Lucas was still agitated and peeved by Sara's lack of response the night before. He could understand why there was not much communication that dawn when they were both sleepy and all but last night was an entirely different matter.
He took her silence as an agreement that he was indeed a stranger to her but he could not understand why. All this while he thought they had spent enough time together and he had slid into her life somehow. Yet now, all of a sudden, the door slammed on his face.
Unless he was mistaken. Perhaps it had just been only him all along, thinking they had become closer? 'Was it really one-sided this whole time?' He reflected.
It was possible to think that Sara enjoyed being a hermit; sure, he can accept that. He knew she was a very reserved person initially too but if she could let loose and be comfortable most of the times in front of him, naturally he would expect them to at least be on friends' level rather than an acquaintance.
