Lucas reached the administration building in a flash and left his car running. Out of haste, he left the brown-haired receptionist lady wide-eyed and agape when asked to park his car.
He had no time to hear her refusal, he had important matter at hand. He left it up to her to deal with it as his finger poked the lift's button numerous times.
For the first time, it felt forever to wait for the lift to come down. Even when it came, every second felt like an hour as it goes up. His feet were tapping on the floor, his finger was all prepared at the open button for his quick escape.
When the door lift finally opened, nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary when he reached the third floor. The sounds of keyboard clackety-click proved that none of the Finance Department was aware of the disorderly nature going on in the Accounting Department.
'It can't be true, can it? Who would send her an invitation? Have I not flaunt it enough that she was mine?'
