Chapter 24 - Going Back To Hogwarts

McGonogal now resided in the headmasters office, James Potter stalked into it, rushing up the stairs and into the office, not bothering to knock.

"Mr. Potter" the professor shrieked, grabbing a robe to cover her dressing gown.

"We have a problem" I tell her

"James, your a Potter, Your always causing problems" She says kindly taking her seat.

"I'm serious, I've sent Ida a million letters, and she hasn't answered. Ida is literally Aunt Hermione she wouldn't be late to school like this!" I almost shout

"James please calm down, I've told you already. Ms. Greengrass is at home with her mother becoming accustomed to her new home" The Professor says professionally

"Her mother is Hermione, she is a Granger, and there is something wrong. No one has heard from her in weeks. " I insist

McGonogal takes a motherly tone and responds, "James, I know you fear for Ida, young love is like that. I agree it is quite odd but there is nothing I can do"

"Whatever, fuck off" I shout standing up and leaving

"Mr. Potter language" She scolds

"Mr. Potter is my father, James in my grandfather. Both hero's, it's my turn, I'm going to save Ida, because no one else will." I say storming out of the office.

The Greengrass's reside in a manor, North of Cambridge. Larger than the Potter manor but smaller than Malfoy Manor. It's tall made of Creme bricks, cracked and webbed with ivy. The large building was surrounded by wrought iron gates, white rose plants climbing and encircling the metal bars. Large poplars lined a moss stone path and the were spotted across the yard. Large ornate windows and doors welcomed you to the house, smoke billowing from the kitchen chimney. I ran round back to a poplar, it's branches reaching into a second story room. Fallon, a friend of mine had sent me a letter confirming my fears, Ida was quite literally trapped. The only help he could give me was this tree. I skillfully climbed the tree and pushed open the window, which was unlocked as Fallon had told me. Sleeping soundly in a bed, was Ida. She was laying on top of her covers hair in her faces hand clutched around a snake pendent. Her Hogwarts trunk was packed at the foot of her bed. I crept over to her bed illuminating the room with my wand (illegally). I tapped her shoulder, but she rolled away, hair getting in her mouth. I poked her again, and her eyelids fluttered. Her half asleep eyes caught my face and she sat up.

"James" She said groggily teaching to touch my face

"Yup" I said grabbing another bag, from my backpack.

"How" She asked wiping the hair from her face and standing completely up.

"Fallon, we have to get going, I can hear Astoria, and screaming from outside" I tell her hurriedly as I shove the full sized trunk into Aunt Hermione's bag, courtesy of Freddy. I tossed the back to Ida, who shoved some extra clothes in and an envelope.

"We have to go out front, Astoria has a guard rotating around here all night. Our best escape route is out the front" She says opening her door.

The hallways were dark except for a few dim sconces. The walls had dark oak paneling and ugly leafy green wallpaper covered in ancient portraits. The floors were a cool gray green marble, I'd only been here a few days but I'd figured out the mansion pretty fast. I lead James expertly through a back hall to avoid Adella or any house elves, I stalked past Astoria's surprisingly empty study, and into the foyer. I made my break across the wide hall like room toward the grand oak door, only to stop dead in my tracks. Sitting in front of the door, was a man, wrapped in a black cloak, gagged and bound, blood oozing from his mouth and soaking the gag. A trail of blood lead from the chair down the west wing hall. The mans eyes were closed and his face was bruised and swollen. James rushed to my side terrified by what we'd found. I checked his pulse while James stood there shocked.

"Who is he?" James asks

"A dead doctor" Someone says from behind me.
