"Bree honey what are you doing?" Jack asks. The sweat is falling down my face. My legs and arms are trembling. I am trying to hold this but loosing fast. And he wants me to be able to talk. Tristen somehow speaks again; I really need to know how this magic thing works. Does it only work for a short amount of time? Or did it shut off when I removed it from him? How can he talk now? All of that will have to wait. "Dad, you need to help her. That is Christopher magic floating there. It needs to go somewhere." Jumping out of his shock fast Jack comes close to the ball of light and wraps his magic around mine. It starts to move out the door. Jack tilts his head for me to follow holding on still. Tristen is right beside me holding me up to walk. As we make it to his car Nan is coming up the porch. Her eyes are big as fifty cent pieces. She watches us step down and to the car. Chole comes to open the trunk and pulls out a wooden box. After opening it she lays it on the ground and walks away. Jack moves the light into the box and says some chant. I am too tired to even care to know the words. He nods to me, Tristen whispers "You can remove your magic baby. It is done." Slowly I work my magic out of Jacks and off of Christopher's. Once compete I collapse to the ground. Tristen lifts me up into his lap and there I stay. My head tucked to his shoulder and his hand rubbing circles over my back.
A little way later, Christopher is lead out of the cabin with his hands froze to his sides. Nan of course is walking mom out with worry all over her face. And Chole and a few others are walking my dads' body out of the cabin. I sit up as they passed me. I turn to Nan, "Where are they taking him? What is going to happen to him? Is he ok?" She bends down to me and looks me in the eye. "Your dad is going to be ok. They are taking him to be look at and for them to wake him up slowly. We didn't want to do it here. We don't know how long he has been out like that." Ok, my dad will be ok. Maybe. Should be. I can work with that. Nan helps Tristen and I stand and we both go get checked out along with Kat and Amber. Of course, we ask them to keep Kat longer to give us piece from her asking us so many questions. I love that girl but I swear she never stops.
The next day I am allowed to see my dad. My mom has been in there with him since this morning, and so has the council. As I open the door, I see mom sitting in a chair by his bed holding his hand. The way they are looking at each other is not what I expected. When they finally notice me, mom gets up and comes to my side. "Honey, I know this is not the way you wanted to do this. But we both feel we should be with you when you met him. Come sit down, I know you have questions." She says in a tone you use on a scared dog or something.
I make my way over to the other side of the bed and sit down. Looking into his face for the first time my stomach drops. This is my dad. This is the guy who is the other half of me. But he ran out on us. "Why did you leave us?" I blurted out. My emotions all over the place I wasn't just going to pretend I was ok with this. He did not want us.
The shocked look on his face told me he was not expecting that. Shaking his head, he answered, "I did not run out on you. I did not leave you ever. Nor will I ever. Christopher told me that I was not going to be given permission to be with your other. That the council was not going to us their blessing. And that they have approved his son and your mother. I was heartbroken. My whole life was your mother. I did not know of you at the time. So, I left. I was gone maybe a week and realized I could not live without your mother. I went back to beg her to take me back and we would run just me and her. When I got in town Christopher found me and knocked me out. I woke up in that cabin tied up. He was mumbling and rambling on about a murder and they will pay. I didn't know what he meant or who until months later when he told me your mother was pregnant and she had left the city. I tried so hard to get out. He had my power pressed and blocked. The binding spell was put on me every six months or so. Until he finally just put me under sedation. It was easier to control me that way I think. The next thing I remember is waking up here. "He grabbed my hand and squeezed gently. I would never leave you. And know having the chance to actually getting to know you and hopefully being in your life. Is all I have ever dreamed of. You are such a blessing. I hope you give me a chance to be in your life. I know it's a bit to late to be a father." The tears in my eyes were making it hard to see his face. But I jumped on his bed and wrapped him in a hug. "I whispered because I couldn't get anything louder out, "Its never too late to be my dad."
This has been such a rough few week being in my mother's hometown. Finding out that I am part witch and angel, my boyfriend and friends are part ones too, that a crazy member of our Covent not only kidnapped my mom but, he did my dad and held him hostage to use their powers to raise his son from the dead but, I also found out that I am one of the strongest and most powerful we have. It is going to take awhile to get use to having my dad around. I know he sure does make my mom happy. Its kind of gross to watch. But working on my powers is something I don know if I will ever get use too. I have found out that I am a white lighter. But it does not define me, it just defines a little part of what makes me different. And that is perfectly ok.
