Ashe woke up spitting blood.
The sun hadn't been out fully yet and it was still dark to gather her bearings. But when she felt a slight wetness in her mouth and tasted it, it felt strangely like something a vampire would drink.
She wanted to scream but then she doubled over in pain, her mouth wrenching open and letting out a silent scream. The pain just exploded all over her, in every cell of her veins and every neuron in her brain. They sparked and twisted and fused over and over, sending her into over-drive.
"What…is this…" she coughed and managed to stand up, the pain only increasing. She didn't know how to stop this inside her. She felt her stomach for a wound, but there was none. That's when she knew that the pain was from inside her body.
'Did I eat something poisonous?' she thought randomly. But no, she hadn't eaten anything back in the village. Only drank the lake water a bit. But that was verified as Pure Element. Sacred, even.
