Ashe's face fell for a second. 'Does he not recognise me?' She smiled. Her heart was slightly at ease now. She wasn't the daughter of a criminal! But at the same time, her heart was throbbing a bit. That fact also meant that Adrien was the son of a criminal. And so was Jake. 'What is even up with that?'
Her head hurt.
"Dad, I'm Ashe. Your daught-"
"I know," he said softly. "Come here." Ashe fell into his arms and he hugged her tight. She felt her hair go slightly wet. She looked up at him and saw tears streaking down his face.
"I'm so sorry," he hugged her again.
"No, I'm sorry," Ashe said back. "It took me so long to come and find you. Why did you have to make it so hard?"
She pulled back to look at his heartbroken face.
"I made a lot of mistakes. Stupid ones. Mistakes that even you and Darren would never make." He rubbed his head. "He controlled my body again, didn't he?"
