Relm's demeanor was very different from when he was in front of Legend. Back then, he had evil intent written all over his face. Even though he was also in a struggle of some sort... seemingly against himself. This time he was collected... in control. He was more like that first moment the heroes encountered him in Lybia.
Legend: What do you mean by not exactly?
Relm: Legend. You and I are on the outskirts of the world I created. This is the Dream dimension. I brought you here because we need to talk. Or more like I need to speak with you, to be more precise.
Legend: Don't pretend I trust you even the slightest, you monster! I know that you're one of the Four Fiends!
Relm: True... But there is much more to that story than what you think you know. Would you like to learn the truth about the Spirit Fiend, the one known as the Grand Master?
Legend was hesitant but still interested enough in knowing where he was going with all this.
Legend: Wait... Hold on... If this is the Dream dimension... Then my body isn't really in Midgard? Or is it? I thought it was all real... THIS IS SO CONFUSING!!
Relm: Fret not. I shall explain everything. And that's the beauty of it... All your memories of your great adventure are, in fact, true. Your body and your group of friends are currently in the Arkana, trying to stop Adramellech. But in this dimension, time does not necessarily flow in the same way as it does in the Arkana or your world. While we are in here, time out there is as if it's frozen.
Legend: This is crazy...
Relm: I am sorry for causing you this much trouble; I truly am... I... I lost control of him...
Relm had a regretful look on his face. This was something Legend was not expecting. It caught him off guard.
Legend: What do you mean? Lost control of whom?
After a long pause, Relm took a deep breath and replied.
Relm: A very long time ago, I was known as Meriel. I was of the angel race—an elite warrior in service of creation. But when the Dark Dimension was discovered, I was sent to investigate it with 3 of my peers. There was something in there... an evil... darkness so deep and so dense that it just cannot be described by words... It was expanding... growing... It took control of me... absorbed me... and I became it. The Lord of Nightmares was thus born.
Legend: You were an angel?!
Relm: I was. And then I wasn't. As the Grand Master, a demonic monster hell-bent on tormenting humanity for his own pleasure, I caused insurmountable pain and suffering and fed off it. But somehow, I was defeated... I can't remember how that part happened... Thousands of years later, I found myself in the Arkana with half of my consciousness gone... and in this body. Relm was an innate magic user that had nothing to do with this. But Meriel's consciousness merged with his, part of it at least... I sensed the rest of my consciousness was in another dimension... With the Grand Master. That was when I met you and your friends.
Legend: So you're saying that you helped us trap yourself? So you could get back your lost consciousness?!
Relm: Nicely put... Yes. Since I have been in this form, my only purpose has been to destroy the Spirit Fiend, the Grand Master. He is against everything I hold dear.
Legend: I don't get it... So why did you try to kill my friends and me so many times?!
Relm: So many times? What do you mean, exactly?
Legend: Oh! Uhh... {Great! I guess I messed up the entire space-time–continuum...}
Relm: I suppose it means you used the power of your sword to alter the flow of time. It's alright. No need for details. That's the beauty of it.
Legend: You said you needed my help. What is it you think I could do to help you?
Relm: I need to recover the Omega Rod. By using it just enough, I can activate its curse. It will eventually destroy my soul.
Legend had a confused look on his face.
Legend: Why would you want to destroy your...? – his eyes suddenly lit up… he believed to understand in part what Relm was trying to do.
Legend: Oh... By doing this, you are trying to destroy the Grand Master... So that you can return to being your angel self! Is that it?
Relm: Yes, Legend. That is indeed it. Although I am not certain that my plan would work... It may ultimately be my demise... Still... It would be worth it. My final service to creation. If defeating that monster is the last thing I do, then I shall have no regrets. And that's the beauty of it.
Legend: Why are you telling me all this?
Relm: Because... You are a great one. Anyone able to wield the Sword of Light has to be, even more so, considering you're human. If I recall correctly, the Sword of Light was originally intended to be wielded by an angel. – Legend was just so full of amazement… though cautiously wondering if there wasn't a trap in all his conversation.
Legend: If what you're saying is true, there's a chance you can return to being an angel. If I say I'm willing to help you... Will you help stop Adramellech? Uhhh... Relm?
Relm was suddenly nowhere to be seen. Legend was hearing lots of different people talking at the same time. He couldn't understand what anyone was saying.
"Legend"
Legend continued to question everything.
Legend: {Maybe I imagined the conversation I just had with Relm... I heard once that this type of thing happens when you have a brain tumor... Could that be the case?}
"Legend!"
Legend: {So much noise...}
The sound of people talking at the same time and overlapping conversations was driving him insane.
Legend: {I... I don't know what you're talking about!} {I don't know who you're talking about!}
"LEGEND!"
Legend: Huh?! – Relm was not there, but this time Legend could hear him.
Relm: I fear I may have done more harm than good by bringing you here... We haven't got time to waste. I need you to focus on my voice... If you don't, you could be lost in here forever... There would be no beauty in that...
Legend: Relm? What is happening to me? - Legend said in a confused and frightened voice.
Relm: You and I are quite alike, sadly. Sharing a consciousness can be a significant burden to bear. I can't imagine how much harder it must be for you, a human...
A hand manifested out of thin air. It gently leaned forward, touching Legend's forehead. After that, all the noise stopped. Legend could see Relm in front of him.
Legend: Did you do that? Thanks... I couldn't even hear my own thoughts with all that noise...
Relm: Legend. I am now in a highly weakened state. I won't be able to help you with Adramellech. Not now, at least. Find me whenever you can. I... Will... D-
Relm was gone again. Legend was Jonas once more. He was in class, answering questions from a written test. His memory was pretty hazy...
As he saw the test, he couldn't seem to remember or think about anything else... Relm realized what had just happened…
Relm: {If I don't do something now, he may be lost in that dimension forever... I can't have that... I will need him when the time comes!}
Relm summoned all his power in his weakened state. He was going to push Legend's soul back into the Arkana, but someone else had other plans.
Grand Master: IF YOU THINK I'M LETTING ANY OF YOU OUT OF HERE, YOU'RE OUT OF YOUR MIND.
Relm: Curses! You Fiend! I won't stand by any longer and let you destroy everything I stand for! Be gone, demon!
Grand Master: AWW, C'MON! FUN HAS ONLY JUST BEGUN! LET'S SEE IF I'VE STILL GOT IT...
The Spirit Fiend snapped his fingers. He tried dragging both Relm and Legend further into the core of the Phobos... the part where the nightmares dwelled. But he only managed to drag Relm down with him. Relm was able to protect Legend from falling into a never-ending nightmare.
Relm: {It's all up to you, Legend. I trust you will be able to pull through... Break free from this dream dimension! And do what you can to protect your friends...}
While Legend was drifting away in a dream, Relm was led to a different lifetime.

"YOU SHALL BE CALLED MERIEL"
Meriel: I am thankful for your grace. I am now your servant.
"THAT YOU MOST CERTAINLY ARE" "PEACE BE WITH YOU, SON"
Meriel flew off to see the other worlds The One had made. There weren't different dimensions at that time. Everything existed in one dimension, and different worlds populated the vastness of space. Everything he saw was beautiful and awe-inspiring. As he flew over the world called Nihil, he saw something that seemed pretty peculiar... There was an aura of nothingness enveloping someone in the distance. He was, for some inexplicable reason, drawn to that person. As he got closer, he realized that the person was in fact none other than himself. The other him had a very different demeanor, though.
Meriel: Who are you?
Other Meriel: I am you... The real you.
Meriel: That's not possible... I am fresh out of the Forge that The One made... Why do you attempt to deceive me?
Other Meriel: It's OK if you don't want to believe me. Allow me to show you... – he was extending his hand towards him, inviting him to take it.
Other Meriel: Don't be afraid. You will learn the truth about yourself.
Meriel was hesitant. He extended his hand towards his mirror image, reaching out to it. But just before taking the hand, something made him flinch, and he withdrew his hand immediately.
Meriel: This isn't right!
He flew off and headed back to look for The One. But now, the aura of nothingness was everywhere. He couldn't find his way. His mirror image began chasing him. He was trying desperately to get away and avoid being caught by him.
Other Meriel: Don't fight it, Meriel. I am what you were born to be. We are... Inevitable...
As Meriel continued fleeing, the mirror image continued its pursuit. It was so fast that it was getting closer and closer.
Meriel: Whatever... Whoever you are... I can sense that you are no creation of His!
The mirror Meriel started laughing loudly. He was getting closer and closer. So close, in fact, that he could almost touch the tip of his garment.
