Chereads / The Archaic Dragon Mage / Chapter 662 - 16

Chapter 662 - 16

I knew that most of the crowd would hear me speak, and that was exactly what I wanted. I'd even raised my voice a little so it would carry further then usual. I lowered my head. Bringing it alongside Savannah, and Ethan so that I could pick them both up. I lifted them both up to the stage.

Aurora came forward, and did the same with Elisa. Elisa stepped off her crown of horns with ease, and onto the stage. The two of us together were more then powerful enough to crush most of the people.

"I've brought a good number of the humans that were taken by the elves with me on this little excursion," I nodded to the group of rescued humans, "The elves took a great many to keep them as slaves. My mission was more successful then I expected. I even managed to kill some of the elven leadership. I hope this will foster enough good faith between our kind to start these peace talks correctly." I glanced back to the wyverns, "I don't see any need to keep so many wyverns here now that they've delivered their precious cargo. I would like to send the ones we no longer need back."

The tired man nodded slowly as if he were agreeing to let me send them off. I turned raising my hand, and opening a portal big enough for the wyverns to pass through. A startled quiet rushed through the crowd. Very few of them had ever seen a spatial portal, and the weight of it would affect them even if they didn't understand that weight. All the wyverns I didn't need rushed through the portal.

Some circled the portal before getting a good angle to head through. I closed the portal behind them once they were done flying through. A large number of the humans in the crowd were startled by the power I had to send the wyverns away. The power to open portals was a rare one among humans so the fact that I could open a gateway so casually was a danger to the others. I could have come here in just a few short moments.

I could leave just as quickly. I flared my wings casually, and turned my attention to the humans.

"Are we speaking here or are we going elsewhere?" I blinked slowly.

"No," He angled his gaze upward so he could look me in the eye, "We have a spot in mind. You can leave the wyverns here as long as they behave."

From the look of it he thought that I'd be about the size of Aurora. I'd grown a good amount since the last time we'd spoke. About five feet if my estimation was right.

"We've arranged transport for you both," He gestured toward two long flatbed trailers.

My scales flattened a bit in irritation, but I ignored the irritation that flared up. I walked across the way, and the crowd parted as I stepped up onto the trailer. Flicking my tail up so I could offer my bonded a ride. Savannah declined. She wanted to get a feel for the people we'd be speaking with.

Goliath remained mounted the whole time. I'd forgotten he was even here. It seemed like he'd fallen asleep on Aurora's back. I frowned to myself as I moved Ethan back over to his notch. He stood on the tip of my tail with incredible balance.

Once he was in his notch I stepped up onto the trailer. My talons cut into the metal bed of the trailer. The spikes on my elbows actually put holes into the deck. I pulled my wings in tight, and gripped the front edge of the trailer with one hand. Aurora nodded to Elisa, and moved with similar calm as she stepped up on the bed of the second trailer.

She was considerably more graceful then I was so people weren't just looking at her with fear like they did with me. It was like watching a precious stone come to life. Her scales shined like polished gems. I snorted to myself as settled into place. Tightening my grip until the metal of the trailer bent.

I wasn't going to pull any stupid stunts for the time being. I looked over to Aqua.

"Keep the others in line Aqua," I ordered, "Don't leave the green."

I sent the order across my mental link with her as well. I just made sure it was more of a mental impression then words. Ethan grabbed the spatial storage devices as we left. We had a large police escort that kept any other vehicles off the road. It was a straight stretch from here to the stadium they planned on having this meeting at.

We had to duck our heads to get through the tunnel they drove us through. The nets were slashed apart before they could reach us. Letty appeared in the tunnel between me, and Aurora. Floating on the air as if he were standing on an invisible platform. Letty frowned at the obvious attack, and looked at the guys that had launched it.

The tunnel was even wider then it appeared at first glance. The outer walls were false. There were a large number of men behind those false walls. Letty had defended us from the nets before they could restrict our movements. Not that we needed the help.

My bloodlust slammed down on all the men hidden behind those walls. A large number of them pissed themselves when they felt my bloodlust come down on them. Several fainted, and even more completely lost the will to fight. I targeted everyone accept the drivers of the two vehicles. From the way the vehicles stopped I could tell they were in on this little plan of theirs as well.

I reached up, and gripped the cab of the truck. Liking the way the driver squirmed as the windows shattered, and the cab gave. I ripped the cab off the truck with ease. Tossing the roof of the truck off to the side about the time I started salivating from being surrounded by meat.

"You might want to start driving before I decide to get myself a snack," I growled.
