I slipped into a deep sleep right after Letty finished demolishing a few hundred foul smelling beasts. I may have felt his presence a bit more, but between the damage to my core, and the sheer exhaustion I was feeling I was completely out of it. It was actually kind of surprising I'd managed to stay awake long enough to see Letty do his thing. I did make the mistake of relaxing once Letty killed the queen. That moment of relaxation was all it took for me to pass out completely.
She'd been a threat for so long that once she was gone I just couldn't help, but relax completely. My muscles tensed as I stood slowly. My limbs stiffened. Demanding a good long stretch before I'd be allowed to move normally again. I stretched feeling out every little tick, and stiff limb as I did until I had worked out every crack in my body.
I realized that there was something laying nearby a moment later as the rest of my senses came back. Ethan had noticed that I was alert again, and was headed my way. I glanced over to Aqua. She'd stayed here with me since I passed out. I was beginning to think that bringing the wyverns with me was a good idea all around.
I could already see the problem with housing so many powerful beasts, but there was the stronghold in the north I'd gotten started before leaving for the elven world. The spirits, and other intelligent magical beasts were assigned to work on that particular stronghold. I wondered how they'd progressed under Letty's guidance. He had quite a bit of experience as a architect, and the building was designed more to be for dragons then humans. There was supposed to be human facilities within the building as well, but I wasn't sure how they would turn out with beasts acting as the main construction crew.
It was only logical for me to assume beasts would be better at designing comfortable housing for beasts. I'd done a decent job at building the hollow mountain. Although Letty had spent some time modifying it after I was done. Many of the showers, and other rune constructs were built by Letty himself. It was really starting to look like a proper city center with people living in the structure now.
Shops had popped up, and there were dozens of fruit trees planted along the main structure. Statues of various dragons had been constructed along the inner circle while statues of wyverns were constructed along the outer circle. Almost as if they were standing guard. Multiple landing platforms had been added to the hollow mountain. Aurora landed lightly not far from where I was standing.
I gave her a cursory glance only to find that she was even more alluring then before. She'd matured into a wonderful young adult. I was still a week away from a properly healed core. It was surprising that I could move at all. It felt more like I'd spent a few months healing.
I'd never felt like this after waking up with a damaged core. Besides a lightly pulsating pain at the core of my being I felt great. Letty appeared in front of me a few moments later.
"Perhaps we should move to the throne room before discussing the report for the past year," Letty started walking toward the hollow mountain.
That was the first time I'd noticed all the flowers, and various handcrafted Knick knacks surrounding the area in which I was resting. It seemed word had gotten out that I was the one who arranged the rescue of all the slaves. It was time to push forward with my plan to make peace using the slaves. First I needed to heal. Going to the human territory before healing wasn't a great idea.
I didn't want them to take advantage of my poor conditioning. I couldn't exactly motivate them to behave without being able to cast spells on my own. I couldn't keep relying on Letty as a wall of muscle. He would be gone eventually. I needed to be able to stand on my own.
I'd managed to put off any leadership training until I got done with this last crazy mission, but Letty didn't plan on letting me off that easy anymore. I could tell from the way he'd directed me to the throne at the top of the hollow mountain. I beat my wings down heavily. Choosing flight over walking there simply because of the large number of slaves that appeared to be headed my way. I wasn't in the mood to really mess with them too much at the moment.
Granted they seemed to want to give me gifts of some sort, but I really did rescue them for several selfish reasons. Creating favorable ties to varies races, and planets was the main goal. I spotted something that interested me. There were quite a few slaves that weren't human. That would work in my favor.
That much I was sure of. I spotted demons, dwarves, fay, and several other races I didn't recognize. Although I wasn't a fan of demons due to my last experience with them. I couldn't really blame them either since humans were on a war path with all the magical races. At the same time I understood the human perspective since I'd been born human myself, and lived with that same bias for quite some time.
I descended into the open halls of the throne room. Closing all but one of the openings once I was in. Aurora, and Letty followed me in. The staircase was still open so the rest of my bonded could come here if they wished. Aurora had brought Goliath with her as well as the water great.
What was her name again? I was kind of scatter brained sometimes. Remembering the names of my allies was kind of important. I really needed to make it a habit. Letty started speaking as soon as the other important people were here.
