Chereads / The Archaic Dragon Mage / Chapter 619 - 5

Chapter 619 - 5

Sekka looked at me with terror in his eyes.

{They're probably going to try, and kill me fairly soon} I would have smirked if I wasn't so focused on keeping my food down, {If they're planning to kill me then they'll need you for questioning. Don't worry to much. You're mom is somewhere nearby. Ethan will already know what's happened. Give them as little as you possibly can, but make sure it's enough to stop them from killing you.}

His eyes changed from terror to determination.

"Dispose of that one," the queen spoke with her musical lilt once again.

She'd struck me in the head twice with her full strength. She probably expected me to die after the second hit. I felt multiple hands grip me as I was drug up off the floor. My ropes were replaced with chains. The chains were heavy, and it irritated the guards.

Dragging me along until they could throw me into the cart. Once I was thrown into the cart they sent me off. I closed my eyes, and focused on healing. Now that I wasn't within their line of sight I could circulate my mana unnoticed. My cores were bursting with ready to use energy.

Both were nearly completely full. I was drawing in more mana from the world around me as I healed. Soon I'd be completely healed. Once that happened I'd be able to do what I wished once again. The elves wouldn't be happy once I escaped.

The real question was how much of an uproar did I want to cause on my way out. I smiled mentally as I started preparing the largest spell I'd managed to learn in my time here. This spell used quite a bit of divine energy to function, but it would allow me to break the barrier, and take a large chunk of the city with me. I allowed myself a few moments of quiet sleep. Once the guards grabbed me again I was fully awake once again.

They threw a bag over my head as I was drug through the halls of the coliseum. Not the halls that the guests were allowed in. The halls that only the fighters, and slaves were allowed in. Each of the doors were locked tightly. I was drug past the cells full of half dead slaves being patched back together so they could be thrown into another life or death fight.

The smell of blood, and piss bothered me, but I was still focused on healing so I didn't pay it much mind. I was thrown on the ground at the center of the arena a few minutes later. I stood up slowly with my arms still chained behind my back. The bag was yanked off of my head. I looked around the arena to see that there were three chained wyverns up against the the far wall.

I watched the guards leave as the audience went quiet. They hadn't removed the chains from my wrists. While executions were generally fairly enjoyable to these twisted personalities, they were not what people expected to see in the arena. A chained fighter wasn't a fighter at all. A few of them even went as far as booing me.

A hundred other fighters rushed into the arena a few minutes later. I watched them bang their swords, and shields together in a way that seemed to be meant to get a reaction from the crowd. I started laughing. My laughter disturbed the slaves around me. The audience seemed to find it amusing though.

The slaves watched as a few more weapons were thrown into the arena. Now I understood why they banged a little tune on their shields. I cracked my back, and looked around at the arena itself. The slaves were avoiding the three wyverns. The chains were released on the first wyvern.

She was the biggest of the three. The slaves all fled to the weapons on the ground where they'd been thrown by the elves. I was the only one that hadn't moved an inch. Mana flowed through my muscles as I broke the chains with sheer brute strength alone. My head had healed enough that I didn't feel as if I were going to collapse anymore.

I pointed at the wyvern that was rushing me about the moment the other two were released. I pointed downward, and the wyvern was slammed into the ground with forces of gravity that was many times stronger then the wyverns body was able to handle. The wave of gravity that hit him a moment later smushed the entire wyvern as if it were a bug. I quietly unleashed my spell at the same moment I killed that wyvern. Disguising the larger spell within a smaller one.

The other two wyverns skidded to a stop as they sensed death coming their way if they continued on their current path. In just another three or four moments no one would be able to escape. I pointed at the two wyverns. Pointing down toward the ground without using magic this time. The two wyverns lowered their heads as the recognized the danger of the superior creature.

I allowed them to see which wyvern was mine, and they naturally became incredibly obedient a moment later. Both beasts walked over to me taking up positions by my side to watch my blind spots. The ease at which I took over the two wyverns drew several cheers from the excited crowd. They'd probably never seen a human control wyverns before. Too bad I'm not a human.

I was more then capable of controlling a few weak wyverns. None of the elves here were strong enough to take me one on one. Plus the arena existed within its own small barrier. By the time they realized what I'd done it would already be over. I would have taken the whole arena.

Literally taken it, and every single elf inside. The fox mask appeared in my hand a moment later. It still had a few small cracks in it still. I placed the mask on my head sideways, and smirked.
