Chereads / The Archaic Dragon Mage / Chapter 532 - 9

Chapter 532 - 9

None of them did. I should have eaten while I had the chance. Now I was hungry, and pissed off. Someone who turned against their own kind didn't deserve any sympathy from me. He curled over, and fell to the ground with blood pouring from his nose.

I'd struck him in the chest so hard that his ribs would have riddled his heart, and lungs with pieces of bone. I stood up with way more confidence then they were expecting. I kicked the dead man across the room away from the living into the raw sewage on the other side of the room.

"If I see another slave strike one of their own then I'll kill them just as quickly as I did him," I gestured half heartedly at the guy laying in the sewage.

I didn't raise my voice or outright threaten anyone. Sitting back down on the bench silently as if nothing had happened. Crossing my legs again, and letting my eyes drop to the floor.

"What happened here?" The guard that was by the stairs might have heard me speak.

I didn't think he'd heard exactly what I said though. He saw the corpse, and walked over to it slowly. Kicking the corpse again, and then cursing about how his foot was now dirty.

"How did he die?" He turned his attention to us slaves.

"He just fell over, and died," I answered without raising my head.

"You're new," he sounded genuinely interested in me.

I felt it when he unsheathed his sword, and touched the underside of my chin. Forcing me to tilt my head up.

"What kind of slave carries weapons?" he smirked at me.

"The kind that isn't owned by your master," I smirked back as I lifted my chin off the blade, "And I'll eat you alive."

His confidence wavered for a split second, but he didn't seem to believe me. He attempted to strike me with the flat of his blade. I caught the blade, and gripped it with my full strength. That surprised him. When he tried to pull the blade out of my grip it didn't move.

The damage to my face healed before his eyes as the blood on his sword moved back into my hand.

"I'll see you tomorrow," My smirk widened into a smile, "Wear a bit less armor. I'm hungry, and I'd rather not fight your armor to get to the meat inside."

My bloodlust, and murderous intent mixed together as it all focused on him. He stumbled back when my grip loosened. The terror on his face was obvious to anyone looking at him. Including the other slaves. He went back to the room that incased the last flight of stairs.

Away from the stench of shit, and ammonia. He wouldn't come back while I was in this room. The absolute terror in his aura, and fear in his eyes told me that he believed every word I'd said. I pretended to sleep for a good long while before deciding not to waste anymore time here.

"I heard a rumor about two men," I startled the slaves around me when I spoke, "One that wears a fox mask, and one that wears a wolf mask. Rumor has it they're planning on taking all the slaves back from the elves."

I heard a quiet scoff from one of the better fed slaves in the room.

"You don't believe it," I smirked, "I didn't either. Maybe its true maybe its not. I'm happy where I am right now, but that can't be said for everyone." I shrugged in a non committal manner, "I did get permission to do one thing whenever I get the chance."

I made large baskets of food, and fresh water appear in the center of the room. I had dozens more in my storage device. Sekka actually didn't know that I planned to do this.

"I'm allowed to do what I want with my food," I looked at the slaves around me, "Eat your fill. I know its the only good meal your going to get for a while."

Three slaves that weren't close to the others jumped up first. Rushing toward the food.

"Not you three," I was between them, and the food in an instant, "You get to eat if, and only if there's any food left after the others are done."

The fear the slaves felt toward me lessoned immediately.

"Woman, and children first preferably," I cracked my neck, "Pass it out quickly, and quietly."

A group of men came forward, and started grabbing large amounts of food. There was some greed in their aura, but more worry, and concern then greed. I had no reason to stop them. They didn't dare come at me all at once. They knew I was a killer.

The men that gathered large amounts of food took it to the groups of badly injured slaves. I allowed it. That emboldened some of the slaves in better condition. It took less then an hour for them to eat or squirrel away all the food I'd brought out of my storage device. The three that were in better condition didn't get a single morsel of the food.

They looked at the other slaves hatefully. I started walking toward them. Making the empty baskets disappear with a wave of my hand as I walked over them. Their aura changed from hate to terror. I crouched down so I could look them in the eye as they groveled before me.

"You blame them," I laughed aloud, "I didn't give you three food because I don't like you."

I grabbed the wrists of two of them. Several of the humans down here could use mana so a little mana spike would go unnoticed. The two men screamed as I burned a rune into their flesh. Charging it with enough mana to activate on its own without any supplemental mana. Healing the flesh over the rune afterward so it wouldn't be noticed.
