It was a surprisingly brutal way of killing. Yet it was easy to do if you had enough mana. If you weren't expecting it you couldn't really defend against it. It was mana expensive, and required some sort of barrier to defend against. Either that or the skill, and the body capable of handling the velocity.
Mana started gathering around the dragon. My eyes went up, and focused on the dragon as he gathered mana. He was returning after only three months of communion. I was one of the oldest living creatures on this planet. I had never seen a dragon become a king or queen so fast.
Maybe he would be able to do what I wanted like Regala had told me. That was her bargaining chip to gain my knowledge. He would be strong enough to give me what I wanted. A crazy smile split my face. Now was the first time I'd ever believed a word she said.
I'd done what she asked on the chance that she was telling the truth. If he was half as powerful as his quick rise to king would suggest then he would be a force to be reckoned with. Just like she'd said he would be. Someone stabbed me from behind or at least they tried to. I split my body around the blade so all he stabbed was a hole where body used to be.
Blood magic could be convenient at times. Moments like this when I changed my body from solid to liquid were a good example. I could avoid getting damaged in situations like this when I was surrounded by enemies. I switched front, and back. The fear on the man's face when the back of my head became a face was humorous.
His surprise was genuine. No human could use blood magic, and the vampires that used to use it were all dead now. I was the only one remaining so the last time blood magic had been seen was the last time I'd used it. My body was in a liquid state. I only needed a drop of blood to make him a blood marionette.
My nail lengthened like an incredibly thin blade, and swiped at him quickly. Drawing the drop of blood out of him with ease. Forcing him to fight his own allies. The caused fear to course through the humans around me. The smell of it was so sweet that it was almost enough to make me sick.
Their focus went to me, and only me. I detected at least ten more elves among the enemy. There was at least one that could use the spatial element. He was also considerably more powerful then the rest of the elves. No.
There were two elves that could use the spatial element. No. That was wrong. The second one that could manipulate the spatial element wasn't an elf. His aura was a mix of human, and elven.
Leaning toward human. He was also weakened, and wounded. He wasn't much of a threat. The other one was fresh, and ready. Standing next to a human mage.
This human mage was fairly strong. He had a fraction of the power that the human mages of the past had. A big fraction. Like a quarter or a third. He was the closest to the power I'd expected to come face to face with when facing humans.
I rushed to the dragon kin. He was burning through his life faster then he could handle for long. He'd already transformed completely into the half dragon form of a dragon kin. There was no returning to being just a blooded now. He'd taken too much of the dragon's power into himself.
I restrained him with my blood. Wrapping my blood around him like rope. Stopping him from fighting might allow him to survive long enough for the dragon to wake, and stabilize him. That was the best I could do for now. I remained in a human shape by hollowing myself out.
My own blood was far easier to manipulate then the blood of others, and didn't cost me much of my mana.

The darkness had completely closed in now. I wasn't able to escape it anymore.
"Just accept your fate like I have mine," the beautiful woman shoved me back.
Forcing me to fall into the darkness. It felt as if the darkness was consuming me. I was dying. I finally understood. This darkness was death closing in.
I looked up to her in the light. She sat down slowly on that invisible chair. She looked almost sad. She was just sitting here observing the world as she waited for death. I didn't like that.
It pissed me off.
"If you don't want to fight," I shouted out of the darkness as I started clawing my way out of it, "Then let me fight for you."
The glow of my eyes pierced the dark as power came from within me. I didn't know where this power was coming from. I didn't really care. I would use it.
"Fighting is the only fucking thing I'm good at," I gripped the edge of the light, and pulled myself up, "I will fight for both of us if you let me."
I forced my weakened body to pull myself back up into the light.
"I'll keep on fighting until there is nothing for me to fight for anymore," I felt my body try to give out as I tried to pull myself all the way into the light.
I was completely back in my dragon body now. The circle of light was so small. Yet I was the same size I had been in human form so there was still more space for me to squeeze in. She looked at me with amazement, and reached out to grab my face. One hand on each side as she guided me closer.
She looked within me. Going through my memories for the first time since we'd met. I should have recoiled from that kind of invasion, but I didn't. For some reason her presence in my mind felt almost like when my bonded viewed my memories. That wasn't right.
