"I'll take him out there," Jax surprised me by volunteering, "I can create a steady platform, and levitate it where he needs to go. Just get his leg wrapped up so he doesn't bleed out in the meantime."
"He can't leave," the medic persisted.
"You can't stop him," Jax spoke up again, "He's freakishly strong, and stubborn. He's going out there whether you like it or not. Just bandage him up, and I'll keep him off his feet so he doesn't bleed out before I get him back here."
"He's right," Savannah winced as pieces or her pants, and armor were tenderly tweezed out of her legs, "You're better off letting them go together. Ethan will calm down once he knows what happened to Wyatt, and you'll be able to treat him better after he calms down."
The medic inhaled slowly, "Fine."
He rushed through bandaging up my leg. A little irritated when I declined pain meds. That irritation turned to concern when he realized that I wasn't flinching even when he pulled mangled armor, and scales out of my leg. I was busy focusing on Wyatt's unconscious mind. He was wounded.
Badly. I'd known that before he tossed me away. He rarely got angry enough that he lost sight of everything. He'd barely registered our presence. I knew he was in bad shape.
I couldn't leave him alone like that. It took a great deal of my mental strength to remain still when all I wanted to do was run to Wyatt. Every muscle in my body tensed. Even my mangled leg. Sending a fresh pulse of pain through me.
The medic wrapped up my leg hastily as my eyes locked on him. They were glowing intensely. There was enough light coming off my eyes to illuminate half of my face.
"There," the medic backed off, "Try not to walk on it."
I started levitating myself. I hated doing this kind of thing with my telekinesis, but Jax had promised he'd make sure I didn't walk. Once I got out of the camp Jax pulled up a slab of rock for me to sit on. My leg alternating between pulsing, burning, and blinding pain. I knew I was pale.
I knew that I didn't have enough blood in my body at the moment. Using my ability was difficult. I'd used it under even worse conditions before. I could handle this kind of strain. I'd done it dozens of times before.
It wasn't easy though. Jax was easing the strain on my body by allowing me to rest while he floated me along. He jogged along the icy terrain. Making his way far more athletically than I thought he was capable of. Unlike the others I didn't need to direct him.
He knew where Wyatt was just like I did. He didn't need my help to find him. He crossed two miles worth of terrain in a little over an hour. Slowing as we closed in on where Wyatt was. We were slowed to a crawl as a blizzard hit us.
I formed a wedge so that the snow, and wind went around us instead of hitting us dead on. The wind chill was still enough to make us feel as if we were in a freezer. My leg went numb which wasn't good. It might have been a smart choice to bring Savannah's fire along with us, but we were close now. My leg would survive long enough to make it to him.
The dark hole that was the cavern we'd hidden in was a welcome sight. Wyatt had teleported himself to somewhere familiar. Somewhere shielded from the cold, and away from the humans he distrusted so much. I could see Jax's exhaustion starting to build up so I levitated myself again. Allowing him to drop the rock he'd been using to carry me.
Both of us sensed it when Wyatt's condition started to improve. We hadn't gotten to him yet. So who was helping him? We both rushed his direction. The large cavern was dark, and Jax couldn't see what was in there with Wyatt, but I saw it clearly.
There were two wyverns standing over his limp body. Both were pumping their mana into Wyatt. The scarred female noticed us first. Her lips pulling back away from her teeth as she prepared to rush me.
*"Humans," she growled in draconic.
The male went to jump us first. Only to find Wyatt's teeth around his feet as he yanked the limp body forward. He fell short of landing the attack, and inhaled to breath fire on us. Before he could even complete that breath he found that I'd pinned him to the roof. I was propped up on my good leg.
I couldn't levitate, and fight at the same time. This bad leg was proving to be more annoying then I thought it would be. The female waited by Wyatt's side. Unsure whether she should protect the unconscious dragon or attack the humans.
"I know you can understand me," I spoke loudly, and clearly, "I can understand draconic. You can speak to me."
The male was too busy struggling against my ability to really react to what I just said. The female on the other hand was very shocked. Her head tilted slightly as she glanced up to the male I had pinned to the roof. She'd already figured out I was the one doing that.
"I'll let him go if you don't attack," I let the pressure off the males legs so they hung in the air uselessly now, "We can talk this over like intelligent beings. You came here to help him instead of killing him." I pointed at Wyatt, "That means we're already on track to become allies."
*"Why should I believe you?" The female stood to her full height.
I moved the male away from us, and set him down.
"I'm belong to him," I stated bluntly, "And he belongs to me. My presence should calm him."
