I let go of the drone, and it shot out of my hand. Skittering off the ground before stabilizing, and shooting off into the air above the girl. Leaving behind a few cracks, and scratches where it skittered of the pavement. It appeared as if the little drone had some power behind it. Must be armored as well.
It had to have a decent amount of power behind it to carry around that much armor. I guess that was why the girl was so concerned. I'd restrained the drone quite easily.
"You must be the reporters that Calen mentioned," I looked at the man again.
He was well groomed. Wearing light leather-like armor. Seemed he was one of those reporters that went out on hunts occasionally. The girl on the other hand was probably older then she looked. Her loose fitting sweat clothes definitely had some decent armor beneath them.
She was the nervous sort. The kind of person that didn't like speaking up. She stared down at the tablet with way more intensity then I found normal. I didn't mind her.
"Yes we've been doing interviews of the guild members here," the man spoke confidently, "Haven't met you yet. Are you one of the party members that live in the warehouse with the Archaic beast?"
I felt my eye twitch as the guy called me a beast. I didn't like this guy. A big part of me thought he was a slimy, worthless piece of work that did this job for the attention. Not to tell the true story. The fact that he'd probably disregarded all the people that told him I could change forms irritated me.
"Go fuck yourself," I kept my face blank, "If I'm gonna talk to anyone here its going to be her."
I gestured to the camera girl. Who had torn her eyes away from the screen to look at me in horror.
"Do you know what your turning down?" the guy smirked.
"Do you know who your fucking with?" my eyes turned draconic as my fingers turned to claws.
Lightning danced beneath my skin, and within my eyes.
"I'll talk to her," I gesture to her again, "And no one else." A smug smirk formed on my face, "Unless you want to lose the interview with the beast."
I knew that no self respecting reporter would turn down the chance to be the first person to interview an actual archaic. My eyes, and hands returned to being more human. I allowed the lightning to continue flowing through me as I disappeared from in front of him to appear in front of her.
"How about it?" I cocked my head, "Debut interview with a literal dragon."
She almost dropped the touch screen in shock.
"I," she stuttered, "Um."
"I can tell you don't like that guy either," I bent down slightly to meet her eye, "That means we have something in common. Its a good starting point don't you think?"
She just stared at me for a few seconds as she tried to process that I was talking to her. The lightning faded from my eyes last. I glanced back at the infuriated reported with a smug smile on my face. He looked like he was about to yell at the girl. Maybe he wanted to yell at us both.
I'd just brushed off some big reporter, and insulted him by basically saying his camera person was better. His eyes glowed slightly as his ability activated.
I whistled, "A natural born ability user." My face turned serious as I looked off to the right behind him, "Don't hurt him Ethan."
The glow in the man's eye dimmed slightly when he realized there was a massive amount of lethal power behind him. He glanced over his shoulder with a concerned expression.
"You should leave now," My lips quirked up at the edges, "Just because I asked him not to hurt you doesn't mean he'll listen."
He rotated quickly. Throwing out a kick that was followed by an arc of fire that headed straight for Ethan. Ethan didn't even move as the flames hit him. A barely visible barrier of telekinetic energy prevented even the smallest lick of flame from reaching him as the man was slammed down with the same power that protected Ethan.
"Telekinesis is such a troublesome ability to defend against," I turned my eyes back to the girl, "Don't you think?"
She wasn't looking at me anymore. She was looking at the guy that was pinned facedown to the pavement. There was a glimmer of happiness in those eyes that didn't dare make its way to her face.
"Come on," I offered a hand as I straightened, "Lets go have a chat."
Her eyes darted from my hand, to my bare chest, and up to my face several times.
"Do I need to put a shirt on?" I asked with a chuckle.
"No," a faint smile crossed her face quickly, "You're fine."
She declined the hand with a gentle wave. Making me shrug in response as we walked together to the warehouse.
"Ethan," I glanced back at him, "Leave the weakling alone. He's not worth your time."
Ethan let off as he walked past the downed, and winded douche. I allowed the girl into the warehouse first. Sharing a look with Ethan before we both entered one after another. She already had her camera floating over the map I'd carved into the floor.
"The detail on this map is amazing," she mumbled to herself mostly.
Savannah eyed the newcomer suspiciously. Jax wasn't in the main warehouse area yet. A quick scan of our bond told me he was still out. I could tell Savannah was still stiff, but Ethan didn't show any outward signs of damage. He was still a bit sore, but I could tell the lingering damage he had from the resonance spell had healed much more then the other two.
"So," I smirked, "Who do you want to interview first?"
