She just nodded. Not wanting to lose her focus. I moved over to Jax. Placing my hand on his back, and repeating what I'd done with Savannah. Jax got it faster than Savannah.
Even doing it better then I could.
"Jax seems to learn better from feeling then you Savannah," I sat down behind them.
Resting my injured limbs. My legs were burning as well. I didn't know how long it would take for them to heal. A few hours for the broken bones. The skin wouldn't take nearly as long to heal.
The muscle a little longer then that.
"Patience," I sighed heavily to myself, "I don't have enough yet."
I crossed my legs, and tried to keep myself entertained. Feeling out the surrounding rock for anything with eight legs. Tunneling spiders was a new thing for me. We were far closer to the hive then I cared to mention. Telling them about it really wouldn't do any good right now.
I could worry about it later. The sting on my back was letting up slowly as I healed. I stood up slowly after about an hour. Savannah, and Jax were ahead of my mana consumption by a good margin, but I still hadn't filled even a quarter of my reserve yet. My mana usage was high with this spell draining away a good portion of the mana I got from them.
It was enough that my own passive mana regeneration was practically worthless. If I could absorb mana from the environment then this wouldn't have been a problem at all. I would've gotten us out of here an hour ago if I could. I started pacing slowly.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" Knife guy snapped, "You're injured shouldn't you be sitting still."
He kept that angry tone the whole time he was talking. My arms were still throbbing, but they weren't in nearly as much pain as they were before.
"I may look human right now," I stopped to focus on him, "But I am not. I don't heal as slow as you do."
"Right," he pushed himself off the wall to stand up, "Because you're a dangerous Archaic freak who claims to be from Earth."
His knife flew out of his belt, and shot straight to my heart. Glancing off of me as if I were made of steel. He tried again. Heading straight toward where my open wounds were before. I grabbed the blade before it could hit me again.
Holding it in place with such a firm grip that he couldn't force it to move. My eyes glowed with power for a moment. I crossed the distance between us in a split second. Gripping him by the throat, and lifting him off the ground with a one handed grip.
"Don't threaten me," I snarled, "I've shed enough blood today. I'm not interested in shedding more for someone I kept alive."
"Put him down," Calen struggled to try, and stand.
I let go of his throat. Dropping him on the floor like a sack of potatoes.
"Forgive me if I'm a little hostile when threatened," I replied sarcastically, "Especially when I'm wounded."
Calen just stared at me a few seconds before relaxing back down to the ground. The slight tinge of blood in the air made me irritated.
"I'm going to have to waste some of the mana you guys gathered," I walked over to Calen, and crouched down, "Idiot opened his wound again."
Savannah opened her eyes to glare at me. They glowed through the night vision goggles with a red fiery glow. Laced with small black specs. Darker then anything I'd ever seen before. Did Savannah have an affinity for Darkness element as well?
I could feel fire flowing toward her. It was hard to tell if any other elemental nodes were flowing toward her with the fire. I gently placed my hand against the wound. Allowing light mana to flow into him through his wound. Making my hand glow like a light bulb in the dark of this small cavern.
The guys that were looking at me had to turn their eyes away from the sudden bright light. I could sense all the damage that had been done to his internal organs with that single stab.
"Don't move again," I frowned, "I can't undo the damage. All I can do is stop the bleeding." I looked up into his eyes, "You don't have much blood left to lose."
My muscles tensed as realized that there was movement in the walls, and it was getting closer. I didn't want to let on that we were slowly getting surrounded by some eight legged creatures that were determined to chew us up. I straightened slowly. I couldn't stop pacing now that I knew we were in danger again. How much mana did I need to get back to the base?
Best option was to do it all in a single leap since we didn't actually know how far the spiders nest actually extended. A leap to the surface didn't guarantee safety. If we were still in the boundary of the nest when I portaled us out of this cavern then we could get attacked as soon as the portal opened. I started gathering the mana in the environment around me. Trying to filter out the part of it that would poison me, and absorb some mana as well instead of just waiting for Savannah, and Jax to gather enough.
It was practically a waste for me to gather mana, filter it, and then try to lead it into my core. The speed at which I could gather the mana was stupidly slow. I just wanted to get us out of here as soon as possible. Even if it meant poisoning myself. I knew Jax, and Savannah would be pissed that I'd even thought about it.
I was going to avoid using mana from this planet as much as possible, but if anything happened to make me rush the portal then I would use whatever I needed to. Regardless of how much damage I would take if I did. Another hour passed quietly without incident. The speed I was pacing slowly got faster as well.
