Chapter 174 - Trouble

"I didn't enjoy it either," I looked her over slowly, "I remember everything that happened. I didn't know I could be that vicious. I was completely aware of everything I just couldn't control myself at all."

"I hate to think what would happen if anyone else had come along," Savannah mumbled.

"I don't need to think," I switched to infrared as I looked around, "I would have killed them. Without hesitation. Trouble."

I stood up quickly, and hissed at my own muscle stiffness. It had let up a lot, but I wasn't ready to move like that. I rushed into the densest trees I saw. Ethan thought about following, but I discouraged him since they would probably stop at my friends vs coming after me directly to start with. That would give me the time I needed to switch forms, and come back.

They stopped at Ethan, and Savannah just like I thought they would. It was a five man team. They seemed to be talking to Ethan mostly. They started getting kind of aggressive, and I ended up deciding against changing back. I called Savannah on an open line.

"Hey guys," I whispered into my watch, "That beast I was following. It doubled back. I don't think it can see very well so stay down, and keep quiet." I stopped talking, and growled, then switched to a panicked voice, "Oh shit. I think it saw me."

I clicked the line of communication off, and roared loudly. I wasn't going all out to deafen everything nearby. I didn't need to. I just needed them to hear me. I climbed into the trees, and rushed their way through the trees.

This was going to be fun. I caught sight of them quickly, and leapt out of the trees with another roar. I wasn't right on top of them, but I was definitely close enough for them to see me. Savannah, and Ethan had moved away from the other team, and had both crouched down into some underbrush. The team that had come after our group had two very recognizable faces.

I almost laughed at who was in front of me. Time for some overdue payback against my favorite pyro, and baby Baron. My lips pulled back until I was showing as many of my teeth as I could. They didn't look scared, but they hadn't scanned me yet so they didn't know how strong I was. I let the growl drop, and pretended not to see them since they weren't moving.

I started letting my gaze drift, and sniffed the air slowly. Ethan almost chuckled at my fake inability to see them. He had to hold it back though. Savannah was less jovial about it then Ethan. She was reluctant to trust anything that I did right now. Conrad smiled as he threw a fireball at me.

Automatically underestimated by the stupid pyro just because I played blind. I snapped my head around so I was facing the fireball, and rushed towards it at my top speed. Hitting it with a lefthanded smack. The flames couldn't catch on me though. They didn't have anything to fuel themselves on my scales so they died.

I started playing blind again. As I sniffed the air much closer to them. Waiting for them to move again, but they seemed more hesitant now that they realized I could move quickly if I wanted to. Luke was the one showing the least fear at the moment. Conrad was clearly panicked.

His flames hadn't done anything to me when they hit me. His attack power was effectively useless against the big beast in front of him. Luke didn't know he was just as useless as Conrad yet. The water guy shot water at me, and I took control over it. It was surprisingly easy.

Did elemental ability users really have this little control over their elements? I snorted as I brought the water around me slowly, and then shooting it back at the dude that sent it my way in the first place twice as fast as it had come at me. Water dude was thrown back a good fifteen feet, but I done more damage than I was intending so I had to heal him a little so he'd still be able to breath when he was walking. I didn't really care if it was easy for him to breath. Just that he was able to breath.

My muscles coiled as I crouched closer to the ground. Sparks started arching off of my body as I coated myself in lightning. If Luke made the mistake of touching me then he'd know what it felt like to grab a powerline. The introduction of a second element under my control had two of them ready to flee. I stepped towards them slowly.

Still pretending not to actually be able to see them. Just stalking forward towards the downed water dude.

{Ready to play the big hero's} I hissed as I slowly moved forward.

{Before or after you've got them all running scared?} Ethan responded mentally.

{Preferably after,} I stuck my head through the hole that I'd created by knocking out one of their guy's.

I whipped my head to the side hitting one of the guys I didn't recognize. Knocking him down like a bowling pin. I snapped my jaws next to his face as if that's where I thought he landed. The rest of the group all rushed me at once. Luke wrapped his arms around my neck.

Shocking himself silly. The others let go immediately after getting a nasty shock. Luke was the only one that managed to hold on while getting shocked. I had to give him credit for that as I bit into his bag, and threw him hard into the nearest tree. The tree cracked, and bent from the force, but seemed to be holding.

I roared Conrad's direction, and Conrad flinched back. Fear was getting the better of most of this team. They were falling apart so fast. It was only a matter of time before they all fled.

{Do it} I lounged at Conrad since he was the one that was stupid enough to move, {Or I'll have to start actually hurting them.}

I felt Ethan's power wrap around me as I was thrown away from Conrad.

"Are you guys stupid or something?" Savannah shouted as she blasted me with fire.
