Chapter 133 - Distracting the wolves

I ran away as fast as I could. Headed for the VR room at my top speed. If the teachers that saw me at the evaluations saw me now they'd be impressed, and confused. I hadn't run anywhere near this fast on the exams. Down to the VR room I went.

I figured I'd go for four more hours of play. I paid for four more hours, and got into a pod. My main problem for now is to hopefully level up. I entered free for all again. It didn't take me long to get into a position that gave me an advantage with my infrared lighting up every single opponent.

Holding off on switching forms until I deemed it absolutely necessary just to get used to fighting in my human form. I wasn't used to fighting at full strength in my human form. Didn't my storm dragon's wrath get another activation parameter. I was so stressed at the time that I ignored the notification. System what's my second activation parameter for storm dragon's wrath?

Rage. Anger. Wrath. When user triggered a forced activation of the passive skill it forced it to evolve.

I rushed through each round as quickly as possible taking down as many as I could each time. It was harder with the reduced mobility that came with remaining in my human form. I didn't take out nearly as many guys, but the health bar was useful in determining how much damage I took from overusing my mana enhancement. Four rounds seemed to fly by with me only getting the minimal amount of kills. I ignored most of the others fighting, and shrugged off the lethal attacks when they managed to hit me.

It was only a game. Death didn't mean anything. Even if I could still feel pain it was only minimal. Well compared to real life it was only minimal. I wasn't that I liked the pain.

It was just that I'd been through worse pain multiple times in the past. The game only hit me with about ten percent of what I would feel in real life. Which was pretty much nothing. I snorted angrily as I got hit again. It was just a flesh wound.

I could still move freely even with such a small wound. My body moved forward easily. It surprised most people when I didn't flinch. Most of them went down after one good hit, and once they were down it was easy to kill them off. I didn't think such a brazen tactic would work on the wolves.

Four hours passed by way faster than I was expecting. I managed to get seventeen kills despite the fact that I was restricting myself to my human form. Before I even got out of my my pod I checked my XP.

2250/3200 XP.

Just a few more fights, and I'd level up. My body tensed as I got ready to run. I kept getting tenser, and tenser as I walked through the pod room. Once I got out of the elevator I'd make a break for the park. I dropped off the keycard, and stepped into the elevator calmly.

I glanced around for cameras in the elevator right quick. I spotted three right away, and relaxed into the back wall. If I changed my face a bit I'd be able to exploit my agility without worrying about someone recognizing me. I dashed straight for the first tight ally between buildings. There weren't many cameras in places like this so changing my appearance to make this new form stand out enough to throw people off my normal appearance.

Blond playboy face with a muscular body. Miles away from my normal lean appearance, and dark brown hair. I rushed through the school at my top speed completely disregarding all the students wandering around. Some were startled, and angered by my sudden passage. I didn't force myself to use mana enhancement since I would probably need the mana later.

Also running around with my mana exposed would draw unwanted attention. I was worried about one man in particular. I was curious about his sensory range for mana, but I wasn't stupid enough to test him now. I could feel his range of influence over the school. At least that was the only good way for me to describe it.

He didn't bother to hide his mana at all. Made me wonder what he could do with so much mana, and what would happen if I got as strong as him. I shook my head as I sprinted past a few angry students. It won't matter how strong he is if I don't live past today. I could change my face back to my normal appearance once I got into the park.

Maybe do a little hunting while I was at it. I was still hungry so why not get some more meat to enjoy. Plus I had this itch to go hunting that I wanted to indulge. Might as well enjoy laying a confusing track for them to follow since I wanted to hunt anyways. I sped through the gates startling even the guards watching the gates.

They yelled for me to come back, but I didn't want them to scan my ID specifically. It wouldn't take them very long to figure out that my face didn't match what my ID said I looked like. I rushed into the park without a second of hesitation. Just like I thought there wasn't anyone here like usual. I didn't stop for even a second as my face, and body returned to normal.

Anyone who might have seen me start hunting in the park that day would have probably been disturbed by the animalistic movements I started using more, and more as I was hunting. My human body was a little awkward to hunt with but it didn't take me long to get used. Human bodies simply weren't meant to move the same way an animal did. I also felt odd not to be able to turn my head the way I normally did in my real form. It made tracking my prey more difficult.
