We finished up sparring, and were let out of the club fairly early considering Goliath was in charge. I didn't mind the annoying way he did classes most of the time, but since I was cooped up ninety percent of the time nowadays the annoyance was a welcome one. I spotted the guy I'd beat up last week, and started following him from a distance.
"What are you doing Wyatt?" Savannah asked as she picked up her pace to walk side by side with me.
"I saw that guy I beat up last week," I switched to infrared to follow his movements as he went into a building, "I want to see what he's doing."
"Are you going to beat him up again?" Savannah scowled angrily.
"No," I smirked as I looked at her sideways, "Just want to see who runs in his circle, and if he listened to me or not."
"What did you ask him to do?" Savannah was still irritated with me, but at least it wasn't showing on her face anymore, "Did you tell him to go home, and cry to mommy?"
"No," I scoffed, "Told him to quit stealing the first years credits."
"Trying to stop bullying single handedly by beating the piss out of everyone that does the bullying," Savannah mumbled angrily.
I decided to just ignore he disapproval. It had been a while since I'd gotten a decent amount of xp. Leveling up was my best option for gaining strength. I simply didn't have access to anything heavy enough to put a strain on my muscles in the school so getting stronger by just doing normal exercise was out. That made leveling up my best option for upping my stats.
No matter how hard I tried to think of another option, there just wasn't one. My muscles tensed as I walked into the building where the guy I was following had headed so I could see who he was talking to. Infrared wasn't good for recognizing faces. I leaned against the wall by the door. Watching him chat from where we stood by the door made me kind of wish I could read lips.
I guess I could look up some courses for lip reading later. With how good my vision was it would give me a substantial advantage. I'd be able to steal information from a great distance. That is as long as I could understand the language they were speaking.
"What are first years doing here?" Two guys came up to us asking the question as if they were asking each other, but directing it towards us, "This building is for advanced second year courses."
"So what?" I snorted, "Clubs are out for the day, and there are no rules against us standing here so go fuck yourselves."
"Wyatt," Savannah grabbed my arm tightly, her voice an angry hiss.
"What the fuck did you just say?" one of them moved to grab me with his right hand.
I grabbed his pinky finger before he could reach me, and wrenched it the opposite direction his hand was going. He cried out, and collapsed clutching his hand. I turned to leave before his friend even knew what had happened. He got angry, and went to grab me from behind only to find my bootheel buried in his unmentionables. The small hiss that came through his teeth was somewhat pathetic as he collapsed.
"Tip for next time dumdum," I smiled cruelly when I glanced back at him without breaking my stride, "I fight dirty."
Pissing him off was kind of fun. He'd come after me sooner or later to get me back for the cheap shot. It would be fun to crush him when that happened. I mentally chuckled at the thought.
"What do you think you're doing pissing him off like that?" Savannah smacked me on the back of the head, "And why are you so happy about it?"
"He came after us for no reason," I feigned being hurt by rubbing the back of my head where Savannah had hit me, "Felt good to punish him for being a dick."
"Wasn't that a little extreme?" Savannah frowned, "Broken finger, and a shot to the nuts."
"No," I shook my head, "They'll think twice before they fuck with someone again. At least for a little while."
"What happened to following that one guy?" Savannah rounded back to what brought us out here in the fist place.
"I saw who he was talking to," I yawned out of boredom, "They weren't friends. That's all I needed to know."
"Then why did you wait for those jerks to pick on us?" Savannah was getting angry with me again.
"I wasn't waiting for them to do something stupid," I stretched my arms upwards, "I was trying to learn how to read lips."
"What?" Savannah almost laughed despite how angry she was with me, "Like right then. Right in the middle of tailing him."
"Yeah," I looked at her sideways, "Right in the middle of tailing him." And dropped my arms, "I'm pretty sure I can figure it out. I just need some kind of reference to help me figure it out."
"So you're just going to go back to your room, and what?" Savannah half chuckled, "Learn how to read lips right quick?"
"No," I smiled, "First I was going to get some lunch."
She smiled back at me as she shook her head. Finally. She's finally not mad at me anymore. Really is too bad I'm not into human girls anymore. Savannah would have been my type if I hadn't become a dragon.
Then again. We probably would have never met if I wasn't a dragon. I'd just be another one of the guys getting my credits stolen. She never would have given me a sideways glance. Damn.
If I'm not into human girls, and there aren't any other dragons then what kind of girl am I into now. I shrugged my shoulders, and kept on going with my day. I was still basically just a kid. I could think about that kind of thing when I got there. I just couldn't help but wonder.

Shout out to those of you who bought the ebook version of volume 1. Thank you. I really appreciate it. I plan to get a paper version out on my off days this week. Ebook takes less formatting for amazon publishing servers. I have to change the whole manuscript slightly for it to work on the paper version.
