I got dressed quickly, and pulled my boots on. Frustration hastening my movements. I was so close to something. I slammed the door open, and waited by the door for Savannah to get here. Tapping my foot impatiently.
I opened the door when I felt Savannah was close, and let her in as Ethan came out of his room ready to go.
"Are you two ready to get a move on?" I snorted angrily.
"As we ever will be," Savannah answered.
Ethan just nodded as I walked out of the room.
"You're in a big hurry today," Savannah followed behind me with Ethan.
"I was trying something," I snapped, "Well I guess failing at something is more accurate."
"What were you trying to do?" Savannah asked.
"Not here," I snapped, "Too many people."
"It's that kind of thing," Savannah nodded that she understood.
"Ethan," I glanced back at him as we got close to his club, "It's time to split up."
I locked eyes with Ethan for a few seconds, and felt the effect of my hypnotism on his mind. I nodded.
"You're good to go," I started to walk away.
"Wait," Savannah grabbed my shoulder, "What did you do?"
"It's okay Savannah," Ethan smiled warmly, "He helped me. It doesn't last long though so I should get going."
Savannah looked stunned as Ethan jogged over to the doors of the building.
"I think that's the most I've ever had him talk around me," Savannah looked at me with that stunned look still on her face, "What did you do?"
"I hypnotized him," I started heading towards our club, "I'm not very good at it, but it temporarily improves his mental state. He has been getting better though."
"You can hypnotize people?" Savannah looked at me concerned.
"Just you, and Ethan," I confirmed, "But I don't like it. It feels almost like I'm helping Ethan cheat when I wipe away all his fear."
"His fear?" She fell a few paces behind me.
"I already told you," I stopped, and looked at Savannah, "Ethan is literally afraid of people. He's been getting better at handling his fear himself, but he still wants me to wipe his fear away." I started walking again, "I don't like doing it, but having his fear gnawing at me all the time gets to me."
"I thought you were joking," Savannah was still a few steps behind me, but she had followed when I moved, "When you said he was afraid of people. Is that why he's so attached to you?"
"I don't think that's all there is too it," I stopped at the doors, "But I don't know how Ethan thinks exactly. He's a bit off. I think there's something messed up in his head."
"Are you really okay with being bonded to someone who's messed up in the head?" Savannah was just a step behind me.
"I think I'm fixing him by being bonded with him," I pulled the doors open, and walked in.
We sat down together across the isle from the rest of the club. Goliath watched us carefully for a few seconds as we sat down. I crossed my arms, and went still in my seat. Trying to give off a clear message with my body language. The message being, don't ask me any fucking questions.
I hated the way that the other students stared at us. So what? We came back. Goliath walked down the railing in front of all the seats, and looked out to the majority of the club calmly.
"Two of my students that I thought had been lost have come back alive," Goliath boomed, "From what I read on the report they had a hard time out there, and got lucky. We will not be asking them any questions about what happened to them during the club hours today. If they don't want to answer questions outside of class either then we will leave them be. Now." Goliath clapped, "Back to the business at hand. First quarter evaluations are coming up. Personally I think these evaluations cannot accurately determine a students worth, but they are a required part of the academy's curriculum so I would like every student in here to raise their level by at least one. I know that this evaluation is rarely taken seriously so as added incentive I'll be adding a hundred credits for every level each of you raise to your accounts. Top performer will receive a bonus of five hundred credits." Goliath smiled wryly, "This isn't a reward offered by the rest of the school. I pay this reward out myself from my own credit reserve. The better you do the happier I will be rewarding you all for it." Goliath dropped his smile, "The tests are randomized so I can't tell you exactly what you'll be dealing with, but I will prepare you to the best of my ability."
The rest of the club meeting went pretty much the way I thought it would. Training, weightlifting, and shooting. We met up with Ethan pretty quickly afterward. Then we were off to sell my venom. Savannah had kept it with her after we left the room last night since it was more believable for a daughter of the four greats to have a vial of Basilisk venom then some nobody.
It was something they'd agreed to after I'd gone in my room to take a nap. I didn't really care. It wasn't like they needed the credits. It wasn't a bad plan. The shop we were looking for was only a few blocks away from the academy.
It didn't take to long to get there. In exchange for holding, and shipping your items they charged a five percent fee. Wasn't a bad deal since both students, and teachers would sell their wares here. I walked into one of the booths, and placed the vial of venom on the scanner. The scanner scanned the vial, and put up an opening bid of a thousand.
Then it asked me if I had an account. I clicked create a new account, and it asked me for a username. I wasn't stupid enough to use my real name, but I couldn't just type in whatever I felt like. My VR username would work so I typed in Dragonbeast. I put in Stormdragon1 as the password on the next page.
