Asaka and the others, who were just arrived at that time, decided to take a rest on a hill that has one big tree on it. Upon arrival, he tried to calm himself down while looking at the wheat farm down the hill. The scene was so beautiful, and the air was fresh. It makes Asaka fall asleep under the big tree while the others stay on guard for enemy or civilian.
In his sleep, Asaka dreams a lot about his tragic past. The image of his parents being killed in front of him makes him suddenly awake from his sleep. At that time, it's already mid-day. Asaka then was greeted by Ayase, who lends her laps for him to sleep.
"Is everything okay, Asaka?" said Ayase that was shocked when he suddenly wakes up.
"I'm…I'm fine…It's just a terrible dream…By the way, did you guys get any information about this place?" reply Asaka to Ayase while calming her down.
"Ah, I see...Well, we still don't know where we are right now, but I do think that we are currently back in time," said Ayase.
Ayase believes that Asaka still can't forget about what just happened a few hours ago. She also believes that Asaka will do things that she can't even imagine when he meets with anyone related to that Black Cross General. It is true that Asaka still has grudges to that Federal General. The other may also have the same feelings, but for Asaka, it's a different story.
A few moments later, Sammie and Kon ran to Asaka and Ayase.
"Oi! Oi! Good news! I have the information about where and what time we're currently it! Hesh...Hesh.." said Kon while panting upon arrival.
"You both look so tired. I'm sorry for falling asleep while both of you did the scouting job," reply Asaka with a guilty feeling.
"It's okay big bro! Alright, so we are currently in Orleans, French, the year is 1942. Sadly in this year, the Black Cross has already taken over Paris. So we have to be careful and make our way to join the French resistance toward The Black Cross." said Kon confidently.
"That a good idea, but with our advanced equipment like this, people will think we are part of the Black Cross Regiment. We're gonna hide our weapon, wrap it in clothes and try to go to the nearest town for more information. Ayase, pack our things, we're gonna move before the sunrise. And yeah…thank you for your hard work." said Asaka that was being serious.
With a shock and feel embarrassed, Ayase quickly packed up all the equipment and moved out with the team.
After a few hours of walking, they arrive in Orleans. The city is famous for the history of Jeanne D'Arc, who saves French from the English siege in medieval times. But before they even enter the city, A young French man interrupts them on the way.
"Hey, you! You're not from around here, right? Are you the Alliance Spy?! Come with me! It's dangerous to be on the open like this. I will bring you to our resistance movement hideout."
At first, Asaka wants to refuse the offer, but they didn't have many options left. Even if he declined his offer, they would eventually be killed by the Black Cross soldiers. Asaka then agreed with the French guy and started to follow him to the resistance hideout.
When arriving at the hideout, a certain female is calling Asaka and his team,
"You there! Who are you, and why are you here?!" says the woman with an angry tone.
Without hesitation, Asaka reply to the question,
"I'm from The Alliance. We are a spy who will destroy the enemy's secret weapons without being noticed, of course."
"You're not from The Alliance, aren't you? Don't lie to me because I am the spy from the Alliance...and what's up with your outfit and gun?! Even if you wrapped it out with clothes, I still know that that's a gun you're trying to hide there." said the woman annoyingly.
Realizing that there are no other options left, Asaka tells them the truth
"We are from the future who went back in time to save the world from the Black Cross. Right now, we just don't know how and we need help from The Resistance and The Alliance Force to make a move," said Asaka confidently
"I see, so is it true that Black Cross will take over the world? Well, The Alliance will land in France soon, so we need to eliminate a lot of weapons before they landed here. I could use some help..." reply that woman.
"Ah, pardon me. Where're my manners...I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Maria Marquette, the leader of the Orleans Resistance Movement. And over there is Eric Smith, the spy from The Alliance, and you are?" said Maria to Asaka.
"I'm Asaka, Ohashi Asaka, 101st Freedom Elite Division of The Foundation," said Asaka proudly.
"Oh, I see..and the others?" asked Maria while eyes on Asaka. Then Kon interrupt,
"My…My name is Usagi Korone, and the other two is Ayase Sakura and Alexandra Samura. You can call me Kon while the other is Ayase and Sammie. Nice to meet you!" said Kon, who was a bit scared at first.
Suddenly, Maria laughed and said, "Your squad has this funny girl, huh?" She continues to laugh. "Well, it's nice to have this kind of team member! She can cheer you up when you're feeling down! Take care of them and don't make mistakes as I do." said Maria to Asaka while tapping his shoulder.
As he looked at her smiling face, Asaka remembers that he also loses someone close to him. And he knows that she must have been through a lot and maybe worse than him, and yet, she's still living a peaceful life.
"I'm…sorry for your lost," said Asaka quietly.
"Nah, It's fine. Never dwell too much in your past. Now come with me, I'll show you around!" Maria replies with a cheerful tone.
Maria and Eric then gave Asaka and the others a tour around the hideout. She then takes them to their room, where they can take a rest and keep their stuff safe.
Then they take them to the command room and ask them to sit at the round table for a discussion.
"Now that we're here, we're gonna start the briefing. As we know, the Black Cross regiment has conquered Paris. Therefore they owned almost all of the military assets in France. They prepared a bunch of 900mm howitzer across the beach to destroy any incoming ships. We need to destroy them before the alliance lands here…" said Maria while pointing at the map on the board
After a lot of discussions, Asaka came up with a plan. But he needs Maria and Eric's permissions to execute the plan. Since Asaka has a lot of advanced equipment, it might be easier to destroy them at night. At first, Maria doesn't have confidence in his plan, but after he shows all the advanced equipment they have, she agrees with it.
"This new kid really looks like our child, isn't that right, honey? Well, you're in a better place now. So, I will be taking care of this kid, just like how we take care of our son." said Maria to herself while looking at Asaka.
In the next 3 days, Asaka and the others will launch the first sabotage mission with The Resistance. And thus, the downfall of The Black Cross starts here.
