Azemo went to bed that night but not before he checked what was up with his tome. He doubted that the Spear Goddess would give him any free time the next day.
As he opened the book he noticed that he did not have any new, or upgraded skills but for some reason there were more pages than usual. He quickly flipped to the back pages and noticed they were about weapons. It seemed that when he imprinted his mana on his spear he had unlocked this section of the tome.
The first page was for his gauntlets. It was titled Unnamed legendary weapon (evolvable). Equipment had the same rankings as skills, basic, uncommon, rare, powerful, unique, legendary and ascended.
'I guess I need to name my weapon at some point so it knows I care.' Besides the lack of the name the fact that a weapon was evolvable was unheard of to Azemo. Turtle Master had taught him about gear but had never mentioned that they could evolve.
'It's probably because my gauntlets are so awesome.'
Underneath the title there was a list of skills but most were smudged and Azemo couldn't read them. There were only two he could see, Fashionable and Shedding.
Fashionable was a unique skill. Unnamed weapon can swap between accessory form and battle form. Accessory form can change and battle form can produce a blade from the right gauntlet.
Shedding was a rare skill. Unnamed weapon can leave behind pieces of itself with the same strength as itself. This was the skill the Azemo had unknowingly used when he plugged the Zepsile's nose. This also meant that weapon skills did not need the tome to activate, they only needed the weapon.
The next page of weapons was for his knife.
It was a unique grade knife called Ceravin, marker of the eight. As for the skills there were also two, one named That looks nice and the other Unbreakable.
That looks nice, was a unique skill as well and its description was as follows: Ceravin can permanently copy other knife skills. Copied skills will not be the exact same as the original. In order to copy skills Ceravin needs to see the skill be used three times in battle or Ceravin needs to consume the weapon spirit by destroying the original weapon.
There was only one more page in the weapons section but Azemo assumed that the more weapons he collected the more pages he would get.
Unbreakable was an unranked skill that just said this weapon is extremely difficult to break because of how it was created. This description made Azemo sad as he remembered when Amyon had first told him that the weapon would never break.
The last page was for his spear.
It was a legendary tier item named, Shining Starlight. Azemo could only see the name of his spear because all the skills were blurred out. Instead the tome simply said, user must raise proficiency with spears to unlock this weapon's skills and techniques.
After reading the new section Azemo went to sleep. Bella and Ima had long since gone to bed, they were tired out from Kaede's vigorous loving.
In the morning Azemo did not awake until Kaede had thrown him out of bed again. After the day before she had decided to wake up Azemo early so that he would not miss out on training.
This day they had time for breakfast and Ima and Bella got to enjoy the meal as well. After the dishes were cleared away Imagine and Bellania wandered off to explore the palace while Azemo went to get some new bruises.
Training went much the same way as the day before. Kaede focused on reading while Azemo did his best to attack with Shining Starlight. Just as expected Azemo didn't get any hits in but instead received a plethora of new wounds. However, even though he was not successful Azemo could feel himself getting better connected with Shining Starlight. He could almost feel the noble weapon's indignation every time he failed to land an attack.
After four hours of that type of training Azemo and Kaede met up with Bella and Ima again to eat the second meal of the day.
"I don't remember the last time we had a meal in the middle of the day." Bella mentioned before she tore into some meat.
In the past the trio would usually have maximum, one or two meals a day. Since Azemo was a demon and Bella and Ima were monsters they could survive this way but all three of them liked to eat.
After lunch Azemo expected more of the same but was surprised when he learned Kaede had something else in mind.
"It is time to paint."
"I am not questioning you but I don't see how painting will help me get better with the spear." Azemo spoke his mind and then quickly added. "Master."
He received a light punch, it would still leave a mark, before he got a response.
"First of all you are questioning me but your master will still give you an answer. A spear has many more motions than other weapons. We must be able to control both sides of the spear and be able to follow the way it swings. Painting offers a way to control your hands and thus helps improve control over the spear."
Azemo did not understand but was tired of getting beaten so he just followed Kaede.
The room that they entered was filled with many beautiful paintings all devoid of color. It seemed that Kaede only used black ink and Azemo would learn that she did this because it made it easier to see the errors in a stroke.
Kaede handed Azemo a single brush that had rounded bristles saying. "That is the only brush you get, now make a nice painting."
Azemo did not know how to start and when Kaede saw him hesitating she gave him a tip.
"Just be decisive, use strong clear brush strokes to get the most out of painting. I am not expecting a masterpiece so just start."
After this Kaede entered a meditative state and started elegantly stroking the paper with her brush.
Azemo was much more awkward with his strokes but after a while he started getting in the rhythm and his control improved.
Unfortunately even though his control improved Azemo was a terrible artist and the landscape he was trying to paint looked like something a child would draw with crayons.
As for Kaede's painting it was astonishing. Azemo could clearly see a perfect moon shining its light on the comfy little palace of the Spear Goddess.
"I made this one for you because you are my first student be sure to treasure it." When Kaede said this it did not have her usual confidence, instead her voice was loaded with emotions.
"Of course master, it is extraordinary, thank you for such a wonderful gift."
"Okay if you are done sucking up to me, lets go eat." The normal bluster had returned and the two left in high spirits.
After dinner, Azemo carefully unfurled Kaede's painting and put it on the wall in his room bag. So that whenever he was traveling he would always be able to see a place of comfort.
'Enough sappy stuff, it is time for bed.'
Azemo quickly fell asleep because he was extremely drained, training in the morning made his body tired and painting somehow affected his small brain.
Bella and Ima returned to the room and saw a passed out Azemo. They quietly curled up next to him and soon no one was awake.
