But I knew she was lying. I knew that they went to war and that Mom didn't want to tell me the truth. With that in mind, I go back to my room to sleep.
The next day my mother got up, and together we went to school, my mother worked there so, I also studied there. When she said goodbye, I go to my classroom, which was alone like every morning since my classmates come in later. I sat in my place to wait for classes to start. I had no one to spend recess with or talk to in class. Even though Mike was in the same class he did have a lot of classmates who loved him. Instead. I was all avoided for "weird."
Once it was recessed I went to the library to read and escape the taunts of my classmates. I found myself reading when an alarm sounds and immediately everyone starts running, the librarian took my hand to start running to the shelter that is in school that alarm that sounded only meant one thing, we were under attack.
Inside the school, there were many shelters. When there is an attack, you had to go with your titular teacher, and your whole group was heading to the nearest shelter. But since I was with the librarian she took me to a shelter where no one of my grades was there. I was scared, the librarian huddled me and tried to calm me down, but something told me I had to run, that this place wasn't safe.
I didn't know how long we had been in the shelter, the cannons were the only thing that I can hear when suddenly, they started knocking on the door, they were trying to get in, we all started screaming, the blows were getting louder, I was beginning to panic, the hits stopped, I thought that what was trying to get in had been stopped, but when we started to calm down we heard a loud blow. They broke the door. They had managed to get in.
Silence, nothing was heard, no one was doing anything, we were all paralyzed in front of the imposing figure of that beast, more beasts were beginning to enter, at that moment everyone started running, I did not, for some reason, I could not move but I felt no fear, I felt nothing, it was as if my body had disconnected, I do not remember very well what happened, I only remember blood splattering my face, it was then that I reacted, in front of me was Lula, the librarian, she was covering me, as a hand pierced her chest, but despite that she managed to articulate the same words.

I started running dodging everyone. I didn't pay attention to anything around me. I just had something in mind, finding Mom, something told me I had to find her fast. I felt like if I didn't see her now, I'd never see her again. I don't know how much time I spent running, but I couldn't see my mom. I only saw the collapsed buildings, inert bodies, but not my mom.
