I was in a mall in the company of the boys and Mathew. They were helping me choose clothes, although they weren't much help, I wish Karina or Martha were here.
- I still don't understand what the difference is the both are blue, buy anyone. - As I said, they are not helpful.
- Mike, I'm going to give you some advice I learned a long time ago when I go shopping with Karina and Sara. - Mathew said as he took Mike's shoulder. - Only nod to what they tell you and carry their bags. - I had to suppress a laugh at what Mathew said, though it was true.
- Why are women so complicated? It's just pants. - I send a look to Nathaniel.
- No, we're complicated is that you guys are simple, and not all shades of blue go with any blouse or shirt without mentioning the shape. -I said as I handed him both pants. - I'll take both of them, go and pay for them, Mike and I will go for shoes.
The children's face was epic, as I enjoy screwing them up, but they were the ones who wanted to come, it's not my fault. When we finished buying the shoes, I told the boys they could go for ice cream or wherever they wanted.
- Why, don't you love us anymore? - I turn my eyes to Mike's behavior. Seriously it is so childish.
- Well, if you want, you can come with me to buy women's underwear and towels.
- Let's go for ice cream and then the video game store. – Nathaniel mentioned as he took a blushing Mike and turned around, followed by Mathew.
I wasn't planning on buying towels. But I needed underwear beside a moment for me, so I went my way in search of a store. I was so focused on looking at the sideboards that I didn't realize someone was coming in my direction until we hit throwing at the person.
- Damn human, see where you're going. - The person I had thrown away was nothing more or nothing less than a witch, good, problems.
- I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. - I said, trying to disguise as much as possible my displeasure with her.
I kept my head down before her. No wonder I hate it, I wasn't in Mexico, so I had no choice but to respect the rules that the pale and the beasts taught here, but something happened that I didn't expect. It was so fast that I couldn't help it, my head turned while my cheek burned me, I had slapped, the wretched woman dared to slap me, I was furious, I was going to jump towards it, but the moment I turned my face I saw something that at the time would not make much impact but if I would sow the seed of doubt, that damn seed.
- My lady doesn't take that much interest. She doesn't deserve it. - The voice of a man who took the witch's shoulder was heard and denied with his head in a sign that he would leave it.
- You're right, let's go, you better never cross my path again. - Mention this witch, as she continued her path, allowing me to see the man's face.
My immediate reaction was to take my hand to my mouth, no, it can't be him, yet it looks so much like it, but no, it's not him, it can't be, what would I be doing here? And with the enemy.
- There's my God, Alex? - Whisper without being able to avoid it.
He seemed to listen to me because I look at myself, but not with that look of appreciation that showed me when children it was a look of hate. He walked past me ignoring me. I don't know if he listened to me or not, or if he recognized me, but if he did, it seemed that he does not matter. I just watched him walk away with that witch and
Without being able to avoid it, water began to come out of my eyes.
After that awkward comment from Sara, I took Mike who had blushed, and told him that we better go for ice cream and the video game store. He just nodded and started the march Mathew just followed us with his typical serious face. I think he's already used to these situations. When we got to the food area, we went to the place that sold ice cream. I do not know if it is because I can rarely consume them, but I love sweets, especially ice cream and cotton candy. They are so fluffy and sweet, once ordered my ice cream, we went to sit on one of the benches.
- Why did we decide to go with Sara? - I simply shrugged at Mike's question - I think I now understand a little of your suffering Mathew, my sincere condolences.
I couldn't help but let go of the laughter just like Mathew. It is rare for him to be so expressive he only does so in the presence of Sara, the more jokes Mike's time passed very quickly. I did not realize until Sara arrived at the store where we were but, something was not right, her face was serious, as usual, but this had hardened and around her, there was more darkness than normal besides that in her eyes showed that feeling that was as recurrent as children, pain. Sara just said it was time to go and went out in the parking lot, the three of us looked at each other, we had all noticed Sara's change of mood, something had happened for Sara to show up like this, but the question was what?
The journey back home was somewhat awkward, Mike continued with his jokes, but no one laughed, Mathew stayed focused on the other people's way, Sara kept looking out the window, said nothing, kept quiet and I swear she wanted to cry and I, I just watched Sara trying to figure out what was going through her mind, many shadows gathered around him something that I did not like, the shadows are a double-edged sword if you are not careful you can end up hurting yourself, I better than anyone I know after all I am the dark devil.
When we got to the house Sara went straight to her room and locked himself in, Mathew went up the stairs to go after Sara, Mike was going to do the same, but I stopped him.
- What do you think you're doing? Let go of me, I'm going to talk to Sara. - Mike tried to get out of my grip just by getting me to squeeze it more.
- No, now she needs to be alone, no matter what you do she won't open you up, you know her.
- But she needs us! - Scream Mike.
-When she wants to tell us what happened, there we will be, for now, it is better to leave her alone.
I sat on one of the sofas in the living room, Mike watched the stairs for a moment and then sighed and sat next to me.
- I hate to see her like this.
- Me too, but you have to understand, you have to give her space, she is not like us, yet she is still a woman, even though it sounds bad it is true, we are men and she a woman we are different, we are carefree brutes and she is very careful and attentive to everything, as she says we are assholes, right now we would achieve nothing, you have to wait for her to want to talk.
Mike nodded to me, we kept quietly looking at the ceiling, until we heard Mathew come down the stairs, when he walks past us he just denies with his head in a sign that he has achieved nothing.
- Martha, Sara won't come down to eat, I think you'd better go down and leave her in her room.
Despite Martha's doubt, she just nodded and re-entered the kitchen, as there was nothing that could be done I got up from the couch and went to my room to get some sleep in what was ready for food.
I got up by the voice of Priscila, the one in charge of my meals, who was calling me to eat, when I got up I went to the bathroom to wash my face once I left for the dining room.
- Nothing yet? - Ask when we had already been served the first course, a mushroom soup.
- No, she still doesn't show an act of life, Martha took her food recently, but she's not coming down yet, what happened to make her get like this? - I answer Mike.
- If I'd known this was going to happen, I wouldn't have left her alone. - Mathew began to blame himself, he will never admit it, but I know that he sees Sara as a daughter, the truth is that I don't know much about his sister Karina, but from what Sara tells me and what I can observe is that like everyone in the unit they lost a lot in the war.
- Don't blame each other, none of them knew anything would happen. - I mention Mike as I took her shoulder. - For now, it's better to leave her alone.
After that no one said anything, Mike and I continued to eat, when we got to the third dish Martha came down with a tray full of empty plates, when Martha left the tray in the kitchen came out and sat down with us.
- I don't know what happened when they came out, but Sara's not well just getting her to eat, she went out into the back garden for a while, when she gets back to her room, talk to her, not before, she needs to clear up after a walk she might feel ready to talk.
That said Martha retired from the dining room and went into the kitchen once I finished eating I retreated to my room to shower and wait for Sara to return from her little walk.
I was drying my hair with the towel when I heard a door closing along with a few steps heading towards my room, I expected it to be Mike to tell me something, but I was wrong, it was Sara who knocked on my door.
- Nathaniel, you have time. - His voice sounded off, it seemed uneasy he did not convey that usual tranquility
- Sure, come in. - Sara took me a few seconds to get into my room.
I was sitting on my bed when she came in she sat on the table at the desk that was right in front of me, I wait patiently for her to talk, but she didn't do anything just move her feet with her eyes down.
- You want to go out and take a walk down the street with me and Mike? - Ask after a while, she just nodded.
We left my room to go to Mike's and asked if he wanted to come with us the glad accept, when we left the house the wind hit my face, it was nice to feel the breeze on a "quiet" afternoon.
We were walking for half an hour, but Sara didn't say anything just kept that look of pain and melancholy, Mike tried everything to make her laugh, but nothing worked, when we returned to the house to my surprise and Mike's, Sara didn't go to her room she stood next to us, Mike and I looked at each other.
- Can I stay with you till dinner? - Sara suddenly asks me to be stunned, but fortunately, Mike answered immediately.
- Sure, how about we watch a movie? - Sara seemed to like the idea.
Once we decided what we were going to do we started to see that what movie Mike had, in the end, we decided on an old classic, even though we had already seen it we were never bored of seeing it besides that it was time, it was about the Halloween king who finds the doors to other festivities and likes Christmas and tries to do it. We were watching the movie quietly until Sara Talked.
- It wasn't him. - Said
- Of course, it wasn't him that was the Easter bunny. Mike said in the taunt.
- It wasn't him. - He repeated Sara, I don't think he means the film.
- It wasn't him at the mall, was it? -When Mike said that Mike and I turned to see her, she was tearing.
When we saw Sara start crying, we were petrified, she didn't know what to do, but she talked.
- Wasn't that who, Sara? - I asked a little fearful, I regretted immediately asking because he started crying louder.
Sara clung to me I didn't know how to react so just when she opened up and try to calm her Mike joined the hug
- Please tell me it wasn't him, that I confused him, that he was someone else, please.
The louder she spoke, the louder I was crying about what I hugged her for, the louder I was asking.
- What wasn't who?
- Alex, tell me it wasn't him please tell me it wasn't him, tell me that the one who looked so cold and was with that which wasn't Alex, tell me he wasn't my brother.
