A blinding light!
All the residents of the island saw the blinding light at the southern tip of the landmass. It was too powerful to look at as many a toasted their eyes by glancing at it.
When the city dwellers saw the light fading away, the next second, the buildings were rampaged by a brief period of violent shockwaves that threatened to weaken the very foundation of the island!
And that was just the beginning.
The island began to tremble and the intensity increased gradually. At a point when the island was sure to fall apart, the tremors stopped.
What was disclosed after the rampage was a beautiful city greatly reduced to dust!
The land had cracked and lives were lost. The loss of material elements was inferior to the account of the deaths that day.
