Chapter 56 - Chapter Fifty-Four: Whiskey (The Finale Battle: Part Two)

(Emi's POV)

It took us about two hours of riding non stop to reach the shabby rundown bar that Commander Pyxis had set up for us. The Garrison regime had always been against Commander Erwins reign, and were easy comrades for Levi to persuade. We stopped our horses and tied them to a post outside of the shabby bar. Neither of us said a word, either out of anger or regret as I sighed deeply.

"Levi I'm sorry-" I went to say as Levi hopped off his horse and walked past me, straight to the bar as he began looking through the little alcohol that was left. "No Emi, your not sorry. You aren't thinking about the fact that you're fucking trying to sacrifice yourself. I can't allow you to do that Emi, I just can't." Levi cut me off as I rolled my eyes and followed him over to the bar.

"Levi, really? You're acting like a child." I stated as I watched him pull a bottle of whiskey off the shelf. He pulled the cork out and quickly drew it to his lips, taking a huge gulp as I rubbed my temples. "And you're acting like a fucking cunt, but we're not going to talk about that? Huh?" He sarcastically stated as I slammed my hands against the bar.

"Alright Levi that's enough! Why in the hell are you acting like this?!" I raised my voice as he chuckled and shook his head as he took another sip. "I've explained this twenty times Emi. I fucking love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you. I've barely had time with you." Levi sighed as he sat the whiskey bottle down and walked over to me, gently placing his hands on my hips.

"Baby...look at me please.." He whispered as I sighed, peeking my golden eyes to meet his as he reached up and touched my cheek softly. "You can't expect me to be okay with this. But, can we please stop the fighting? You've been off all day and I'm worried about you..Please talk to me." Levi begged as I leaned my face against his hand.

"I'm worried Levi, what if I can't do it? What if Erwin wins?" I whispered as he leaned in and kissed me softly, making all of my anxieties melt away for a moment. "You're my Cadet after all, I'm the one who trained you. You can handle this. I have your back." He reassured me confidently as I softly smiled. "You're still an ass though.." I muttered as he chuckled. "Yeah, and you're a bitch.. but I love you." He brushed my bottom lip with his thumb as I blushed. "I love you too, Levi."
