Chapter Five of his obsession
I kept my pacing around Justin's office. I had never been this scared in my life. It wasn't that I was scared of Justin but I was scared if he was going to get angry and do something stupid. He hadn't come to work and it was quarter past three.
I stopped by a little square fridge by the edge of the office to get something cold to drink. I opened it and to my surprise, it was completely stuffed with awesome things, ice-cream, yoghurts, wine, fruits, and other things. I wondered why I never noticed it.
I took a big apple, immediately took a huge bite and ingested it crazily and definitely not lady-like. I couldn't eat anything this morning.I only had a cup of old tea that we found in our basement. It didn't take anything close to long before I finished the apple and took another one and other things that could satisfy my hunger.
I had to get these for Caramel. I twirled around to get a plastic bag or something to keep these but my movement came to a halt when a barrier stopped me. I raised my head to look at the barrier. It was Mitchell. She stood there with a shit-eating grin.
She joined her palms together into a continuous clap. "Very good." She said and raised her eyebrow, crinkling the face of her forehead in an ominous expression.
"Mitchell?" I said with a wavering voice. I was detained with fear for no reason but I felt the need to. I felt like a thief, stealing from Justin.
"I caught you, little thief." She snapped, raised her hand to point her index finger to my face, I had to crane my neck to move my head backward so her long artificial fingernails wouldn't poke my nose.
I held her finger, placed it by her side. "Look here, Mitchell." I said, gathering confidence since I wasn't a thief. "I'm not a thief or… I am not stealing anything here. I was just getting something to eat." I smiled, hoping she believed what I said.
She rolled her eyes, smiling in a 'do-you-think-i'm-stupid' manner. "I knew this was the real you. You're only interested in Justin's money." She snapped, placing her hand on her waist, holding a silver purse with a cute golden bunny design on her other hand. "I know little hoky-poky sluts like you." She shot me a simper expression, effecting a gasp from me.
I crumpled a part of my skirt with my hands. My body began to boil and I knew my face had gone red hot from the infuriation I was experiencing at the elusion of the implausible words from her mouth that she seemed to be unaffected by because she nodded her head to express that she meant what she said.
"Excuse me," I said unbelievably. I expected a lot of fucking insults to land on her from me. I was so furious that I felt like exploding.
"What's wrong uhn?" She asked rhetorically with a smirk, raised a brow in a fake questioning expression that made it seem like she was an innocent child asking her injured mother. "How does it feel to be called by your true identity?"
"Mitchell!" I hollered, ready to beat the hell out of that rude bitch. "How dare you-" I started but was interrupted when the door flung open. We both diverted our gaze to the now opened door and a beaming Justin came in, shut the door before widening his eyes in amusement.
"Wow!" He placed his hands on his waist, grinning from ear to ear which caused me to involuntarily roll my eyes. "I see, my two 'girlfriends' are here." He teased, air quoted the 'girlfriends'. It made Mitchell blush and I rolled my eyes at her.
"Oh Justin," she said, twirling a few strands of her wavy blonde hair just a few inches above her butt with her index finger in a seductive manner. "You don't have to say that all the time. You really shouldn't pair me with 'her' as your girlfriend." She said in a joking manner then turned to look at me with a killing, mean gaze. It proved that she was serious about what she said.
I also shot her an equally mean look, wrapped my arms around Justin's bicep, causing him to flinch and a gasp escaped from Mitchell, she used her hand to cover her mouth. It was obvious that he didn't expect it but I felt the need to do things like that in Mitchell's presence.
Mitchell furrowed her brows, rumpled the face of her forehead. "I… I was going… I need…" she stuttered, scratching the back of her neck like she was thinking of what to say. Her jealousy was so obvious and it really annoyed me.
"What's wrong?" Justin spoke, clearly confused at Mitchell's expression. "You can tell me what it is. You know I'll always help you out." He insisted on her talking.
She gave the most innocent and warm smile. "Thank you Justin." She grinned. "I know you don't give my time because of your-" she stopped, squeezing every muscle of her face to utter the next word, "girlfriend." She continued, made a very gloomy expression, fiddling with the hem of her shirt.
"What's it Mitchell?" He asked, freed himself from my grip around his biceps. Having to hold him felt too good to be left alone. "Please tell me." He moved closer to her, cupped her face with his palm as tears began to roll down her face earning a roll of eyes from me.
"I have been feeling really lonely these days." She sobbed, wiped tears off her face with the back of her palm. Justin held her shoulders, probably smiled at her. I couldn't see his face since his back was in my view.
"You don't have to cry about it. Stop being a baby." He scolded gently, wiped her tears with his thumb. He was so sweet but to a 'devil in disguise'.
"Please stay with me for today." She sobbed, sniffed, probably fake. "Please I need someone to stay with me."
"Okay fine. I'll go with you." Justin said, patted her head, "you're such a child." He said, turned, faced me.
"No, you're not." I snapped, snapped my fingers at him with furrowed brows. "You're not going anywhere. I need to talk to you and it's really urgent." I placed my hand on my waist, rested most of the weight of my body on one leg, crossed the other leg over it. "It has to do with work and it's really important." I shook my head slightly in disagreement of the fact that he was leaving.
He gave me a confused look, "but, you just heard Mitchell say-" he started but I interrupted him.
"No, shut up." I rolled my eyes, looked at Mitchell and she had the most threatening and dangerous look on her face which caused me to widen my eyes but shove it off with a shake of head and diverted my gaze back to Justin. He had a blank expression on his face which encouraged me to continue talking. "Well," I placed my index finger on his chest, twirled around him, my index finger still on him as I twirled and returned to the position I was before continuing, "I bet that you wouldn't want to miss this opportunity I'm giving you."
He heaved a sigh. "You really know how to affect me with your tricks." He gave me a short, genuine smile then turned to Mitchell and I looked at her too.
Her eyes were tears-filled then she lowered herself, buried her face in her palms, placed her hands on her knees, started sobbing. "Why? No!" She wailed.
Justin bent down, lifted himself and her up by pulling her arm. She immediately threw her head to his chest, her body to his and he involuntarily hugged her. It caused my brain to spark.
"Noone cares for me." She said slowly, sobbing at every word.
"Don't say that Mitch." Justin patted her back, stroked her hair gently. "Don't forget that I'm always with you." He said, held the back of her head like she was his. I would have been lying if I said that it didn't hurt me because it actually did to see my contract boyfriend or husband hugging another lady that was crazily in love with him.
She withdrew herself from his hug, wiped the pool of tears off her face with her palms repeatedly and continuously sobbed. "I have been having my panic attacks, trauma and asthma cries for sometimes now." She gave a sad smile then continued, "I once had it all at once. The doctor said I needed company and you know that you're the only one that can calm me down when that happens." She sniffed.
"Mitchell, why didn't you tell me these things?" He hugged her again.
"I didn't want to trouble you. That's why I came here today so I could have some fun with you and wipe away my worries." She said in his hug, causing me to scrunch up my face in disgust.
Justin turned to me. I expected him to be really mad at me for being an idiot but he held my hands together with one hand, placed them on his other hand with a smile. "Please sweetheart. I promise to see you today. I promise." He said with the most adorable puppy eyes.
I heaved a sigh. "Okay, whatever." I didn't really understand why I was doing the job of a jealous girlfriend now but I realised that I needed to do it when I looked at Mitchell. She had an evil, shit-eating grin plastered on her face.
