Chapter 4 - A Call...

Julio Cesario, Alya's boyfriend and someone that somewhat meant more to Lisa. Intermediate between thin and thick but his figure seemed perfect for the suits. His brown hair pushed to the left side of his face. Cheek bones which were distinct, deep dark eyes and a charming smile. To top it all, filthy rich as an entrepreneur.

Dressed in a dark tuxedo with a black striped red tie alongside matching fits to complete his gentleman's look.

He got into his lemon green chevy for an arranged meeting with some of his partners which he considered a few, friends.

Unaware of Lisa's state, he took his cell to call Lisa but there was no answer. The phone buzzed quite alright which made him more worried after constant phoning. "I wonder what she's up to" letting out a deep sigh.

He placed the phone in his Jacket's pockets, starts the engine and begins his journey. On arriving, he received a phone call from Alya.

"Hey babe" Alya's tone was low.

As quick witted as he was, he knew something was wrong "What's the matter love?" His voice low as well and full with concern.

"I don't really know how to put this..." She paused when her voice started to crack and was shaky.

"Come on, you know you can tell me anything"

"But you can't tell me everything" , she wanted to say.

" I'd understand you whatsoever way" he assured her.

" It's about Lisa, she's-" she couldn't complete it. Otherwise known as acting to her.

"What's wrong with Lisa!?" He rose his voice

" She's missing" she swallowed a lump before correcting herself " she's dead"

"DON'T YOU DARE SAY THAT!!!" he warned as he walked to his friend's porch.

"I know" Alya took heart to continue " I really don't want to but there's no other explanation"

"What do you mean no other explanation?"

"Everything points out the fact that she's - you know what"

" Everything?" He asked while opening the front door and stepping a foot inside.

Alya sighed before explaining everything and before he proceeded with his meeting.

During this period, after he'd gotten the news, he was troubled and all he wished was to go and see with his eyes. He couldn't believe till he saw her dead body but once told her body was not, he felt the tiniest bit of relief.

Also disgusted for the way he'd blamed Alya for directing her there. If only he'd known the outcome,he would have refused or tagged along with her. Rather, he mostly blamed himself for the incident.

"Mr.Julio, Mr. Julio..." Someone who had been calling out his name broke him out of his thoughts and made him come back to reality

"Sorry" he took his files "but I have more pressing matters on my hand". Now that was rude especially when big personalities were in the room he planned to walk out of.

Pushing his chair backwards and dusting off invisible dust from his tuxedo. As he exeated the room, someone followed behind.

"You don't look your best" a deep voice spoke.

Julio refused to turn his head and reveal the anguish on his face " That's what getting old does to someone, Emilio" he said.

Emilio. Though wealthy but laissez-faire. His hair was dyed crimson red with shaved sides. He was an average looking guy having his charms in some factors with surety of looking good in a suit as well. Not forgetting...a playboy who was trying hard to be in a relationship with his fiancee.

"Stop playing the fool here Julio," he came closer " you know better as to what I mean" then placed a hand on his shoulder "We have been brothers for a long time now, though not by blood but I know you better than anyone" pressing his hand " Tu problema es mi problema"

He turned his head to look at the hand on his shoulder before looking at Emilio "Some minutes ago, I received a phone call from Alya about Lisa" Suddenly his face became strict.

" Has she found out?"

" I doubt. It's something else, something I'd never imagine"

" She slept with another man apart from you?" His voice rose as if he was sure it was the answer.

"Keep your voice down" he cupped his hand on his mouth " you're wrong, why would Alya tell me that if she doesn't know"

Emilio's tone changed " I can't keep playing this game of guess"

After a short while of thinking how to break it down to him, he lets it out "she's dead" seeing the blank expression on Emilio's face, he continued "she hasn't gone back home since yesterday night after our outing"

" How certain are you that she's dead?"

"Not convinced enough" he later on looked away from him "her body was not found in the alley, her purse was seen, nothing missing and there were fresh almost wiped blood stains there"

Emilio thought for a while then asked " Where was this?...Is it down 21 Avenue Street where those thugs are around her place?"

" Worse. Far from home. 'The Wickets' lane" witnessing Emilio's eyes open wide " Tell me what you know!" he quickly ordered.

" I've heard stuffs about them, bad stuffs" he rearranged his hair flow with his palm which was an attitude of his "They leave no evidence which shows someone might've died here"

His head flinched as he thought why Alya didn't mention all this yesterday and during the phone call "There were enough proofs which means she didn't encounter them"

" Yes and the person is a fake for trying to wipe the blood stains" though Emilio was a playboy,he had the brains and could picture what someone says without seeing it.
