El Topo woke up to a giant bright light shining in front of his eyes. He tried to move his arms around to shield himself from it, but then he felt something that was keeping his entire body from moving.
He looked around to see dark and light green walls, some equipment that was located on both sides of the room, and some table that also had binds trapping another person.
El Topo blinked once. Then twice. Not believing who was laid beside him. La Chèvre.
"La Chèvre?" He whispered. But he got no response.
"La Chèvre, are you al-"
"Silence." A voice interrupted him.
El Topo looked to his right to see two guards entering the room and heading to their stations.
El Topo panicked and turned to La Chèvre. "La Chèvre! Wake up! Please!" He begged, wanting to at least see his..crush one last time.
La Chèvre's eyes fluttered open to see El Topo looking at him. With fear in his eyes.
"Mon ami?" La Chèvre questioned, before spotting the countless machines that were specifically built to "handle" them.
El Topo smiled solemnly at La Chèvre. "Hey, mi amigo."
Abruptly, La Chèvre felt a surge of energy go through his head. He glanced up and saw that the helmet that was on his head lit up bright green. The process already started. It was too late.
"Mi amigo-AGH!" El Topo was cut off when he also felt the energy enter his head.
One of the henchmen smirked as he was about to pull down the lever that would completely wipe their minds of each other and VILE.
But then, he felt a sharp pain in his neck. He screamed, feeling whatever was causing that pain only press deeper into his skin.
He fell to the ground unconscious. And a lone figure stood before him.
They went to El Topo and La Chèvre and swiftly took off the helmets. While also untying their binds.
El Topo's vision slowly began to clear. As he saw someone with a tiger-themed stealth suit and glasses appear in his line of sight.
La Chèvre stepped forward. "..Sheena?"
Tigress sadly smiled at them. "Hey, guys.."
El Topo looked around the room and saw that all of the henchmen were on the ground. Motionless. Did she..?
"Did you..kill them?" La Chèvre asked, speaking for the both of them.
Tigress sighed. "No. They'll wake up in a few hours." She said, taking off her glasses to reveal her saddened blue eyes.
"Go. Before the Faculty is alerted."
El Topo and La Chevre looked at each other, and then back at Tigress, both surprised.
Tigress scoffed. "I'm only doing this because you guys are my friends. And..I'm not heartless. I care about you guys and I'll kill you if you tell anyone else what I said. Now, go!" She said, pointing towards the door.
The two men nodded and ran out of the door but not before turning back to her.
"Thank you, Sheena. For everything." El Topo said, knowing this might be the last time he'll ever see his friend.
Tigress rolled her eyes. "Yeah, whatever." She said, letting a sad smile crack on her lips. "I mean it now! GO!"
El Topo took La Chevre's hand and they both ran out the nearest exit to a beach. Which also had a dock that was home to one of VILE's motorboats.
The pair quickly got inside of it and went to the main console. Knowing they'll need a key to start up the engine.
They were interrupted when guards started to file out of the same exit they ran through seconds ago. With Crackle Rods in their hands and ready to fight the now traitors of VILE.
"Quick, mon ami! Before they reach us!" La Chevre yelled from the back. Trying to find the keys so they can finally get off the island.
El Topo launched himself at the approaching guards and knocked their Crackle Rods out of their hands with little ease. Using his claw-like gloves to knock them out.
El Topo ran back to the boat and got back on. Joining La Chèvre, who had just started the engine, at the console.
Then, La Chèvre slowly steered the boat backwards, away from the dock. As more guards came running at them. But it was too late. As they took off into the night. Finally free of the Faculty and their fears of losing each other.
They knew that someday they'll have to face their classmate-turned-friend-turned-enemy Carmen Sandiego and her team, but for now, they only had each other. And that's all that matters.
La Chèvre turned to El Topo, sighing. He then smiled and cupped his lover's cheek. "J'taime, mon ami."
El Topo smiled. "Yo también te quiero, mi amigo."
They both leaned in, and then their lips connected in the middle.
