Alexa first went to the locker room to drop her bag and books. She just took out her pen and mathematical set and hurried off. The entire hallway was bustling with students rushing off to their classrooms before the bell rangs. Alexa kept sighing nervously as she found her way through the crowd of students.
"You can do this Alexa. You have prepared so much for this." she kept encouraging herself mentally as she kept moving with quick steps. She was still with her thoughts when someone ran up to her.
"Hey Alexa." exuded Samantha, her best friend. "Did you just get here? I have literary been searching for you throughout the whole school."
She glanced at her friend and mumbled sharply. "Hm, I just got here."
Samantha chuckled, "You of all people?"
"Yes Sam," she scoffed "I can't believe I woke up late today of all days. Anyway, how are you hanging up there? Nervous?"
"Well, not quiet. We have been preparing our whole lives for this right?" she nudged her with a chuckle. Alexa studied Samantha's face and smiled, a little bit surprised to see that level of confidence on her face. That's just what she needed at the moment but she just couldn't help being anxious and nervous at the same time. "Yeah right." she smiled back at Samantha and they both glided into the class.
The class was in quiet a rumpus when they walked in with everybody busy discussing the exams and solving some questions on their own.
"Hi Lovia, hi Martina." They both uttered as they settled into their desk.
"Hi" Martina and Lovia chorused their response. Alexa and Samantha had their desks right behind Martina and Lovia. "How well can this question be answered Sam?" Martina and Lovia turned simultaneously on their sides to face Samantha and Alexa.
"Oh this," Samantha replied, hanging her bag on her chair. "Let me see." she took the book from Martina and placed it on her desk. Alexa also drew closer to give a hand. "You see this 4 here?" Sam queried and both Martina and Lovia nodded in response. "You will have to let it cross to the other side of the equal to sign." she began explaining as Martina and Lovia tilted their heads.
Alexa also assisted and they solved it together. Giving Martina and Lovia a better understanding.
"Thanks girls." Lovia mumbled and they turned back to their original position.
Clearly on the examination chart, Mathematics was the first subject to be written. Alexa checked her mathematical set was again to make sure that everything was intact. It was at that instant that she notice for the first time that Samantha brought her bag to class. "Oh, you brought your bag to class?"
Samantha stared surprisingly at her and nodded sceptically. "Y–yes. Didn't you see it whiles we were coming?"
"No. Why didn't you just leave it in your locker?"
"Woah–you....." she was interrupted by the voice of their teacher, making the whole class fall into a complete silent. "Good morning, you should bring your books and bags in front if you have them here."
The class was once again thrown into a rumpus has students moved from their seats.
"Don't tell me you're nervous." Samantha whispered to her friend with a grin.
Alexa glanced at her with a wry, "Get out of here." she nudged her and Samantha chuckled, raising up from her seat. She gestured her two fingers from her eyes to Alexa, "Got my eyes on you." she whispered with a radiant smile and hurried off to drop her bag.
The classroom returned back into silence as everybody settled back into their seats. Mrs. Jackson took out the exams papers and shared it to them. When she was sure that everybody had gotten a paper, she returned to stand in front of the class. She glanced at the clock hanging on the wall then back to the students. "The paper is for 2hours. It's 9 O'clock now. Start work." she announced and everybody turned their pages opened.
Alexa did a quick reading through the questions and so did Samantha. When she was done shuffling through, she came back and critically examine them. Taking one question at a time. The clock slowly stuck from seconds to minutes then hour. Mrs. Jackson also kept close and fixed eyes on them as she paced through the rows to prevent any exams malpractices.
"An hour more to go." she announced which rose little whispers but stopped shortly. The rest of the hours passed by fast and soon they were done.
"You can bring your papers now."
Alexa studied her answers critically and carefully for the last time before raising up from her seat. "Are you done?" she asked Samantha who was still writing something on her sheet.
"Yes, just writing my name." Alexa chuckled, slightly shaking her head. "This is so– you Sam." she mumbled as she stepped out of her desk. "Will wait for you outside."
"Sure." she replied without looking up.
Alexa handed her paper to her teacher and sauntered out of the class. She waited outside for Samantha and within 2mins, she joined her. "Let's go Alexa." she mumbled, shoving her bag over her shoulders.
Alexa nodded and they trod off through the corridors to the library. They still had two more papers before they will be finally done with 11th grade.

After long hours of moving from one class to another for exams, school was finally over. Not only for the day but for the rest of the coming days ahead until their results come out. Samantha went to escort Alexa to the bus stop.
"Will miss you so much Sam..." cried Alexa as she pulled her friend into a hug. The bus was yet to arrive so there was no need rushing.
"Me too but not to worry. We can meet up or I will come around anytime I'm free." They broke from their hug.
"Sure?"
"Yeah, don't you trust me anymore."
"Of course I do." Alexa grinned, rubbing her friend's arm. "Anyway, I hope we all get into LIBERTY COLLEGE and make our dreams of becoming dancers come true."
"Let's hope so." Samantha replied. At that instant, the bus pulled up. "The bus is here. Go now."
"Alright." she hugged her friend for the last time before gliding into the bus. Alexa found an empty spot beside the window where she could see her friend and settled in. They both smiled and waved at each other as the bus speed off.
Samantha stared at the back of the bus till it rounded the corner; taking the route through the high street before walking away.
