"Hosh, hosh..~"
Deva is exhausted from running to her house 1 kilometers from the nearest mini market. He won't want to come home when Lewis is awake, because Lewis will surely tell his Father.
'Good! That damn dog didn't guard the front door.' Deva said in his heart.
Hup! Duk....~
Deva managed to climb the eight-foot-high fence in front of her house. He didn't go straight to her room, but she was wearing a hat as a disguise when a housemaid found her.
"Will I not be recognized? Never mind, no maid will wake up at this hour anyway." Mumbled Deva.
Tap... Tap... Tap...
Deva walked so carefully, he didn't want to wake the watchdogs sleeping in their beds. But Deva forgot something, Deva accidentally held on to his father's car which caused the alarm rings.
'Woof Woof woof.~'
"Damn! The hound dog is awake!" Murmured Deva by hardening his jaw.
Tap.... Tap....
Deva heard the footsteps approaching her, spontaneously as she walked around the car not to run into the person.
"Who's there?!" Ask someone whose voice sounded so familiar in Deva's ears.
'Bad! It's Lewis!' Deva's words in his heart.
"Hmm? Come out or I'll use violence asa threat.!" Lewis said by lighting the flashlight he had with him.
'Lewis! This is your young master! Damn. There's no use using that line!' Deva's words in his heart.
"One...", Lewis slowly approached, "Two...", again and again his steps got closer to Deva.
'Bad, if I move now the dogs will easily find me. I have to make the right plan!' Deva's words in his heart.
"Out to came with me... Seven...", Continuing to approach, "Eight.....", Closer, "Nine", Very close, and....
Bruakkk!!
Deva threw his hat on an unused pole near the fence and then ran away with his shoes.
"Who's there?!!!". Lewis shouted by shining a light on the fence, he saw a rusty mast falling away from it.
Lewis took a good look at the masts and then found an object he was familiar with falling between the masts.
"The hat? Wait.." Lewis saw the tongue of the hat and then.....
"Young master?!!!" He says.
'Deva Clano.' On the tongue of the hat.
"Don't be..."
"...Someone kidnapped young master?".
—
"That was so close!". Murmured Deva with a sigh of relief.
".. Now all we have to do is figure out a way to get upstairs without passing the stairs." Said Deva.
Deva was hiding in an abandoned warehouse for a while. As far Deva knows, it's the room his late mother loved most. Even though it's unused and empty without the goods, it's still quite well-kept and large. There was only one mural in the room.
"Its beautiful.." Deva said by approaching the painting.
Deva held the painting in her hands and then suddenly her tears came without being asked.
Deva wiped down his tears, "Eh.. Why am I crying?". Ask Deva to himself.
The painting is so beautiful and so big. That's about 170 cm tall, and that's about 2 meters wide.
"Truly art the painter who drew this painting." Said Deva with sparkling eyes.
That painting is so beautiful. The scene he had painted inside, allowing anyone who looked at the painting to feel calm and happy inside. Every image in the painting will have its own philosophy. Imagine and feel, both of these are capable of hypnotizing anyone to feel and to imagine what this painter is drawing.
Deva lost in his imaginary world, he fancied his Mother alive and stayed to enjoy the view with himself, imagining that he was playing catch and catch with his Mother, spoiled until the end of the day, singing a song, being fed by his lunch, also imagining what it would be like in the scold by his Mother when he broke his commandments.
"Hah~ Mom, may you be happy in the next world. If Dev can't see Mom for the first and last time, then come visit to see this son of yours grow up. Mother, I miss you even though I've never felt the warmth of your hand. Hiks." Said Deva with a smile flaring between her tears.
He kept going through the painting, until Deva found a inscription on the lower right corner.
'Art by: Reva Clanara
Message: Happy is always my family. If God gives me a long life, then we'll go to that place together!'
Dugh.
Deva sat weakly after reading that sentence, wondering if it was her own mother's painting.
"M-mother...W-why would you keep your illness a secret from D-dad? Why?!! Hiks. hiks." Deva said with a little bit of raising his voice.
"W-why?! this family you're leaving behind looks like a happy family? No. Um... W-mom, why? Why?!!! While you can cure the disease, hikhiks. hiks."
"Don't cry in front of Mom's painting, she'll feel sad in the other side." Said a man who stood watching Deva in the doorway.
"D-dad!".
John smiled weakly, "What boy deserves to cry?",
Deva shook his head,
"Then why are you crying, hm?" Asked John by hugging Deva from behind.
"I-it's natural, hiks. Is D-dad doesn't feel sad?". Said Deva by bowing his eyes.
"I feel it, too. Saddened, sick, stricken, useless husband, disappointed in not knowing the secrets of a loved one, and frustrated...", John sighed for a moment and then continued his sentence, "..But will you stay in that low moment?".
Deva shook her head, "I don't know.."
Ctak!
John snapped Deva's forehead, "You really need to learn a lot, huh!".
"Aw,aw! Don't blame me, blame yourself for not watching me study so long ago!". Said Deva by twirling his lips.
"Well, well, the Young Master won. I couldn't have stayed in that moment. if I had to break, would I be hugging you this morning? No. right? Living in this world is not everything about romance, sometimes people have to be the victims of despair to become the happiest people in the world. Did you get my point?"
Deva nodded her head, "I got it, just a little bit." Deva said.
"And where were you when mom was five months pregnant?".
"Five months? (Has Mom told you?) I was a long way from England when i went to see investors in Kalimantan, Indonesia."
"Are the rumors true?" Asked Deva in a weakened tone.
"Rumor?"
Deva twisted his lazy eyeballs, ".. Rumors about Dad having an affair with another woman led Mom to think too much and to have cancer. Is that right?!". Said Deva by raising his voice.
John was surprised a few seconds later to raise Deva to sit across from him.
"PFFFTT... You look exactly like Reva, with people who have a high level of curiosity." Answered John with a smile growing on his lips.
Deva's blushing, "Hmph!". Then he turned his face in random directions.
"Hey, hey, it's not good to put on a pouty face like that.
"Well, It's time for breakfast, let's get to the table!" Says John trying to change the subject.
Deva pulls John's hand, "Dad! Answer my question first!!".
"We'll discuss this later! You'll be late for school if dad tells you about it."
Deva twisted his annoyed lips.
Cup!
John suddenly kissed Deva's hair, "I wanna tell you when you are 17 age, be patient and develop!" John said.
Deva sighed as if, 'Well, you didn't intend to tell me! Nevermind.' Deva said in his heart.
"Mr. John, Mrs. Jennies is waiting for you at the dinner table. Young master, please wash yourself first." Lewis said through the door.
"Fine, thank you, Lewis. I'm sorry to have troubled you all these years with my son."
"No problem, Sir. Being a family person's family is a form of debt redemption in the past." Lewis said by subding his body.
Deva buried, he immediately ran towards the room because she felt his stomach nausea.
"Deva, what's wrong?". John's shouted on Deva who had entered his room.
"Let me see young master."
—
Huwek !!
"The woman named Pelita is poisoning my food, huh?". Deva mumble.
"Who is poisoned? Who's poisoning?".
"Woah! Lewis!".
