btw I'm saying this after reading through past comments lol. I try to do updates often, but I get distracted a lot😳. Anyway, I love you all!💕)
I hummed a song to myself, tugging my sweater back on. I'd just taken a quick bath in the lake (it had already been 3 days since the exam began, and I was starting to smell a bit😖.) Luckily, the guard sent to watch me was female too, so I didn't have to worry about that.
My dark hair was still damp, so I let it down to air-dry. Maybe I should cut it so that it doesn't get in the way of future battles. I sighed, remembering that I still hadn't found my target yet. At this rate, I'd have to find three random opponents if I didn't find him/her.
1 hour later
I was walking through a foggy section of the forest, where I had to watch my step so that I wouldn't trip on any tree roots. This place looks vaguely familiar. Maybe it was the setting of a scene in this arc, I thought, glancing around cautiously.
Suddenly, I heard some shouting, and I immediately quieted down. I began walking silently over to the source, staying mostly hidden behind the thick, bare trees.
Upon seeing the scene, I blinked, recognizing the people. "Killuaaa!" I called, waving and stepping out from the tree. Killua was standing there (looking quite bored) with the three Amori brothers surrounding him.
The white-haired boy placed his hands behind his head, facing me and raising an eyebrow. "Man, knew someone was hiding over there but I didn't think it would be you, Aki..."
I laughed sheepishly, scratching my cheek.
"By the way, have you seen this number?" I asked, holding up my target number to him. The three men sweatdropped as me and Killua chatted casually (from around 10 feet away) as if they weren't there.
"Oi, brats, stop acting so carefree and just hand over your pins already! Or do you want to feel some real pain?" the biggest one threatened, cracking his knuckles. "Shhh! We're talking. Give us like 5 more minutes," I shushed, putting a finger over my lips.
"So anyway, have you seen Gon yet? I just hope he's okay," I said, frowning. "It's Gon, he'll be fine. Didn't we tell you before? Right now, he's probably looking for Hisoka."
"You're right... he's just so impulsive."
"Ha, kind of like Leorio."
"Haha, yeah! I don't know who's worse!"
"And Kurapika's like the total opposite of them!"
"OI, STUPID BRATS, THIS ISN'T A FREAKING TEA PARTY!" the oldest of the brothers yelled, raising a fist. "I'll handle this one. You get the other two," I said, sighing.
Killua nodded, seemingly disappearing from view. "Oh? You think you can take me on and win?" he sneered, punching his palm. Without a word, before he could even move, I jumped up, flipping in midair and using the gravity to land a heavy kick on the back of his head.
Immediately, he collapsed, unconscious. The ground below him was cracked a tiny bit from the force of the blow. Looks like I'm getting used to controlling this power.
I glanced around, seeing that the other two were already knocked out. "Oh, one of them was actually my target. How convenient," Killua's voice said from behind me. I turned around, seeing him looking at the three pins in his hand.
Looks like he took the oldest one's pin while I wasn't looking. "Aw, none of them are mine." I sighed, shoving my hands in my pockets. "You want the other two?" he asked, holding them up. "Nah. I'll be fine. My target must be pretty weak if I didn't memorize his number, after all," I said.
Besides, Hanzo needs one of those to pass and knock Gon out in the first round of some other phase so that they both become hunters. I'm pretty sure he's watching right now, waiting for his chance to snatch his target's pin. At least I remember that.
Killua raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure? You might fail if you don't find them soon, no matter how weak they are."
"Yep, I'm sure."
"Huh... whatever you say."
He then took the two pins and threw them- really threw them- out somewhere else on the island. "See you in a few days, if you pass," Killua said with a small grin, waving and walking away.
"I will pass!" I called back, an irk mark appearing on my head. Then I smirked and ran off in the opposite direction, glancing at my target number. I have the 4 days left...
