"L-O-L, imma right?" You tried to joke with the situation you had but Mia had signaled you to stop
"wait, you're being Serious?" You asked again
"Rita, has any of your parents told you anything?" Kiki began to ask
"like...?"
"like how they met or what it was like before they met" Kiki had one brow raised like she was interrogating a criminal
you lost in your thoughts when you remembered..
"oh yh!, my dad did tell me once" You said while thinking hard
"what did he say?"
"it was so cringey I think I barely listened" You shrugged
"so you don't even know a single thing?" Kiki asked again
"no no, I do. My dad talked about how when he was younger like 17 he could barely get a girl to like him cause anytime he talks to them they quickly turn and leave him. Basically, he couldn't get a girlfriend but when he turned 26 he found 'the woman of his heart' and so that's how I came to be" You said
"just like I thought, your father was lucky but that wasn't enough" Kiki looked at you with squinted eyes
"lucky?" You were dumbfounded
"remember I said you're cursed?, well its your whole father's lineage that was cursed and being it that you're your father's daughter the curse follows you"

"Rita dear, you are cursed" Kiki finished
"and the way out is..?" They were all surprised. You were chill taking in the news but unknown to them with everything happening you didn't even know if you should scream or jump off a cliff
"well, this kind of curse isn't one you can break like others. It has to be a sacrifice of a life" Kiki watched you closely as your expression dropped
"a life? I'm I gonna bring an animal then we cut it and drink the blood??" you chuckled at the thought of all the movies you watched where they sacrificed animals and do some juju magic
"I'm afraid it isn't an animal we'll be sacrificing"
"so a human?, don't you think that's too much of a savagery act for a ritual" Your face scrunched up
"not just any human" Kiki sighed and you knew you wouldn't like were this will lead to
"you have to sacrifice your destined partner to break the curse"
