The voices coming up the stairs, had closed in quickly and sounded more paniced then the ones on deck.
Crap did someone already know I was no longer where they had left me. At least if I was outside, there was a chance of making a run for it.
With one more deep breath, I swung the door open. The bright sun, a strong contrast to the dimly lit underbelly of the ship, stung my eyes making me flinch back on instinct. In front of me there was crew running about adjusting lines, readying ballistas, and just going about daily duties. The laughing was coming from a man standing roughly 6 feet tall, with a sturdy build, long white hair, and pale blue skin. He wore nothing but a white fur loincloth and a matching tophat. The man next to him had a similar appearance, but was covered in armor from neck down made of a similar material to the ship. He carried Spear and shield also the same stuff. The front of the shield had a strange purple bubble like substance forming and bursting without a sound.
When i followed there gaze and armada of ships infront of us, all cannons trained on this vessel. Looking around i could see no allied ships. Had these men lost there minds to madness at the prospect of unbeatable odds. This was when they noticed me standing in the doorway.
The man in the top hat spoke " well damn one of them is up wonder how many of the others survived. You there boy I will explain what happened when the others wake, but first as you can see there is a pebble in my shoe."
With that he turned, and pointed at the bow of the ship. The other man then nodded in response, both of them moved to the bow of the ship. The shield man setting his shield in front of him taking a stance as if he would stop all the cannon fire.
These guys are definitely crazy. A thought I no sooner had then a group of colossal spectral creatures formed up each with a shield the size of a tower. When the cannon balls struck there glowing forms, they stretched back like hitting rubber and launched back at the ships like being shot out of a sling shot.
While all of this was going on, the man in the tophat materialized 6 stones. The stones then changed shape in to little spike balls, shift from stone to diamond, and began to glow. Then he tossed them, the moment they left his hand they took off as if they had been fired out of a cannon, and grew from pebbles to the size of borders. On impact they exploded, each one dropping there target. The rest of the ships torn apart by the return of there own cannon fire.
The armada never stood a chance.
I stood there jaw on the floor, trying to convince myself this was all a dream. No one can have that much power. When I finally managed to collect my thoughts.
I realized there are now others around me, all of them seemed equally flabbergasted. These must be the others he spoke of. Good maybe I can get some answers now.
The two men made there way back from the bow of the ship, this apparently have been just a stroll in the park for them.
The one in the top hat called out as he approached " Ah. Finally you all have woken. I am Dread Admiral Maxum Hoarfrost, and this is my vice admiral."
"Hahahaha how many times do I need to tell you I don't need your silly titles Maxum. My name is Jatasura Ravana."
None of the others seemed to want to, so I jumped in." I go by Ike "
He was a 6 foot 2 inches, athletic build, brown shoulder length hair, and had green eyes. The clothing he wore was that of your typical commoner, jeans and a t-shirt. Well, he had a nice furr blanket still around his shoulders.
A girl to the left of me then piped in " um...my..my name is Lalita Rama, but Lita will be just fine."
She was a short girl 5 foot 1 inches, and you better not forget that 1 inch it matters. Her hair currently was a light shade purple just this side of pink, and it went halfway down her back in an intricate weave. Wore a suit of ornate light leather armor with a onix bow on her back.
"I am Elliott, better known as ghost"
This man wore dark clothing that, tight enough not to get in the way, but loose enough not to hinder movement. His hair was mostly silver but faded to black at the tips. He had a twin pair of sai strapped to his side, judging by the ware on the holster they had seen plenty of action.
The last of the people was a young man probably 16. He had a standard set of robes and a wood staff, short brown hair, and seemed to not have experienced much of the world yet. When he notice all of the attention turned to him he was so flustered he couldn't even remember his own name.
"Well spit it out already, or is this one broken." Maxum growled.
"I....I...It's Ronald, sir. Sorry." The boy stuttered.
"Now that introductions are out of the way, I can tell you why you are here. There was a terrible disaster, the land split and shook, the waters rouse, the wind ripped the land scape bare, and the volcanos melted much of the rest. I was hired by the council of The Elemental City to collect survivors. They have seen that a team of those that made it through this has the potential to right the world. They will fill in the rest when you get there. We will be there before the days out, for now eat and rest the really test hasn't even begun. " With those words he spun on his heels and was gone.
