She got to know what Cristoff asked Jessi. Even though he only asked about her internship, it was enough for Keren to go insane.
He was such a rich and powerful man, he wouldn't let go of such things easily. She was sure that something unusual is gonna happen .
"Don't react this much, he's not gonna kill you for that..." Jess said.
"I know, but he won't just let go of that matter" She replied worriedly.
"Hey girl, he has a whole lot of business to handle, why will he spend his valuable time on you. And you are not that bad. I say that he would have liked that" She smiled.
"It's not the time to joke..."
Unexpectedly the bell rang.
"Who's in this time?"Jess said.
"I'll check" Keren went towards the door and slowly opened it and saw an old woman.
The woman smiled.
With that smile Keren understood who she was.
'The lady outside that lift. Why is she here?'
Keren smiled back.
"Hello Keren" she sounded really feminine even though she appeared old.
'She knows my name?'
"Hello...Mm....."
"Can I come in?" the old one asked.
"Yes please..." she invited her inside the house.
Jessi who sat on the couch stood up in surprise. The woman smiled at her. Jessi indicated her to sit and looked towards Keren. In return she nodded her head, which meant she had no idea who she was.
The woman sat there. After comforting herself she said, "I never expected this to happen, but I'm happy"
Both the girls didn't understand what she meant by that. Keren politely asked her, "I'm sorry but do I know you?"
"Oh... you may not know me but I know you well"
'She she here because of what she saw on the elevator.... but why would she come here?'
"Well....I'm happy he chose you." she said.
'Who???'
Both Jessi and Keren glanced at each other.
"You are really pretty Keren I like you" she added.
'What is going on?'
"But... mam, I..... don't understand" Keren spoke "who chose me?"
The woman laughed, " Oh.... you don't need to hide it. There's no problem in that....."
She didn't understand even a bit.
"Well....doesn't appear that you live with your family. Where are they?"
Keren didn't want to respond to it, she just stood there. Jessi looked towards her in worry. Suddently the lady's phone rang. She didn't take it but stood up and smiled at Keren and said, "I'll have to go now, something came up"
She went near Keren and held her cheeks, "I really like you.....I'll be more than happy to have you in my family"
She hurried from there and disappeared. Jessi rushed towards Keren and comforted her. "Don't mind it. She didn't..."
Keren slowly moved towards her room. She locked her inside leaving Jessi more worried. She sat in the bed took a box from below and found a drawing that she had drawn when she was six. There was her mother, father and herself. She closed her eyes, recalled everything.
-------
It was peaceful night. Little Keren was in her room, sleeping peacefully. Then suddenly something happened that woke her. Some shouting was coming from downstairs. She slowly went beside the staircase and saw her mother being pushed by her father, who's one hand was held by another women. She couldn't understand that her father a money obsessed business man was pushing away her mother to get along with another women who was very rich. Even though he kicked out her mother, he kept her. She kept asking where her mother is till when she was eighteen, but no one including her step sister minded her. Then one day she heard the news of her mother's death and she questioned them. At that very moment she was also kicked out.
Her mother was an excellent painter, hence she had the skills. She made paintings and earned money. Even though she had immense talent, she didn't make give it much publicity. From the very first she was an independent painter and still is. She got enough money and a nice friend and it was more than enough for her.
But somewhere she misses her good old childhood days.....
