The difference between the two boys was clear. Charles wasn't the one chosen to be a royal. Charles wasn't the one that helped every living creature that needed him. He did what mattered to him alone. That might have meant that he had to stick his neck out for others just so that he could protect Kevin, but there was no mistaking it. He didn't bother himself with people or things that he didn't care about. From what he said, I could tell that he wanted what Kevin had without inheriting his caring nature.
