Kendall's POV
I was furious when I left the Artarak, furious at my best friend for trying to act like everything was cool when it wasn't, however, I was not going to let it get into the way of what I had come to do. My instincts were right as I had already guessed, the situation at the Mage's society was out of hand. I teleported with an aim of appearing slightly above ground and landing on my feet. However, once my feet touched the ground… or much they reached for the ground, I was covered in a searing vapour that shot away from me in all directions.
