Ciara's POV
I found that merely getting up to get ready for Diego's next attack was also an underestimation of the dragon's abilities. The moment the crystal shattered, Diego burst forth from the shrapnel heading straight for me at a threatening speed. I leapt out of reach just in time to watch the spot I previously stood in crumble and crack from the sheer force of his fist. Fear coursed through me as everything seemed to slow down. All I'd been able to do up until this point was dodge him.
I hadn't yet attacked him in any way and he was getting more confident the longer I played this game of cat and mouse. I thrust my hand forward and sent forth torrents of quick setting snow that was meant to harden upon impact with his body. This was my first attempt at an attack or more of defence as there was nothing that could physically harm him in the spell.
