"What are you trying to say?" I asked her. The fact that she was Travas' daughter spoke volumes about what she might have known about us already. I had never taken it into consideration that she might have known about the divine pairing.
"I was talking to Ciara the other day and she said something about it. She said it was probably what fixed the rift between the natural rivalry she was supposed to have with the Siege," she said.
Jacob thought it through before speaking up, "I have thought about that and it is true that the artras are able to figure out who it is that they are paired to. Regardless of that, I still think the choice has to be made of one's free will."
"I read further into it and asked my guardians about it," she said, "the pairings allow someone to find their person most suited for them. One that won't affect their efficiency in battle. Would you rather deny a pairing and risk…"
