Kevin's POV
The Devourer and I talked about a lot of things while I lay on the ground of the forest that had been a battlefield. Standing up was not an option at this point, adrenaline having drained out my system. My body felt like it weighed a ton, not to mention the numerous broken bones, bruises and cuts from the fight I had just acquired from my duel with this force of nature. I learnt that the Beast hadn't spoken to anyone in eight hundred years and that it was getting quite lonely so I was sure that this talk I was having was helping it more than it did me.
