"...I'm telling you Asmaa, this is the last one. All those other buildings were absolute crap", Najeebah frowns slightly. The two ladies were driving through New York City. Even though Najeebah was livid, tapped her fingers on the steering wheel when her favorite song came on.
Asmaa looks at her with her brow raised, a bit amused. "What?", Najeebah asked noticing the look on her bestfriends face. "You really can't resist a good song can you?", Asmaa asked with a chuckle and Naj huffed. "We have bigger things to think about than my addiction to music okay".
Asmaa let's out a sigh, "I really think that last one was good, I mean the place was a bit dusty sure...".
"A bit?", Naj raises her brow, giving Asmaa her are-you-serious look then fixing her eyes on the road again. "There was a rat for God's sake Asmaa", Naj continues feeling a shiver run up her spine.
"It was dead", Asmaa said with an eye roll.
"Who knows how many more are hiding in there. Maybe a whole continent of rats", Naj says and shakes her head. "I'm not about to deal with that", she looks at Asmaa who puffs her cheeks and let's out a breath.
"Fine but let's get food before we go to the next place. I feel like my stomach might actually scream at me if we don't", Asmaa says and on cue her stomach grumbles.
"Fine food it is", Naj said and parks her car in front of a diner.

In New York City, everyone is too busy to ever notice the things going on around them. But if there's one thing people notice its nice cars. Benjamin knew that which is why he parked his car a few feet from the diner he was about to go in. He gets out of his black Ferrari with his brother Wilson. "This place looks fairly empty", Benjamin nods and starts walking towards the diner.
"What you can't handle a little paparazzi?", Wilson said in a mock voice.
Benjamin rolls his eyes and says," They annoy me, I don't get why they feel the need to know everything that goes on in my life". Benjamin was a popular song producer and Wilson an equally popular rapper and song writer.
Wilson and his older brother walk into the diner to find it completely empty except two girls seated by the window eating fries. Benjamin muttered to himself," I really expected this place to be completely empty".
Wilson placed the order while Benjamin took a seat behind the girls and pulled out his phone to listen to music. He saw Wilson talk but couldn't hear him because of the music blaring. He smirked and mouthed, "Can't hear you".
Wilson simply pointed behind Benjamin and smirked. Benjamin took out his earphones.
"Hey ladies, can I get you fine looking goddesses anything".
Benjamin rolled his eyes. 'This kid'. "Thanks but we'll have to...",Naj tries to say but gets cut off by a kick from Asmaa. "Yeah, I'm craving pizza right now", Asmaa stated and winked at Wilson.
Benjamin spoke up, "Excuse my brother for his lack of manners". "Way to be a party pooper Ben", Wilson says and rolls his eyes. "I'm Benjamin and this is Wilson", Benjamin says ignoring Wilson's initial comment.
"I'm Asmaa and this is Najeeba", she give a smile and nudges Najeeba who was staring at her coke. "Um nice to meet you", she voiced out and Benjamin responded casually," Likewise".
"Anyway I don't think I've seen you beauties around here before, also your names sound really foreign", Wilson says while he grabs his drink and the pizza. "Maybe because this is the first time we've been here you idiot", Benjamin muttered and sipped his drink.
"Well we both have African parents but we were born in New York", Asmaa shrugs.
"Interesting", Wilson said and smirks. "No wonder you all look so good", he said. "Not to bad yourself", Asmaa replied. "Wait a damn second, Benjamin and Wilson? Like 'the' Benjamin and Wilson?", Naj said eyes wide.
Benjamin ignores her and Wilson answers," Guilty as charged".
"You mean the music producer and the rapper? This is them?", Asmaa asked, disbelief etched in her face.
"Look we're just brothers that make music for a living, nothing special about that", Benjamin rolls his eyes.
"Yeah like one of the most popular music producers", Naj muttered.
Benjamin looked out and saw a bunch of people making their way to the diner. he nodded to Wilson and stood up.
"Look uh Naj and Asmaa right? Yeah nice meeting you but now we have to go", Benjamin nods and walks out with Wilson following him.
"Until next time my goddesses", Wilson said and paid for everything then followed Benjamin out.
"What's better than free food?", Asmaa moans after biting into her pizza.
"I don't know getting a good place to stay and work?", Naj said glancing at the door.
"They're pretty interesting don't you think?", Asmaa said.
"And hot too", Naj mumbled.
Asmaa choked on her pizza and quickly drunk some soda relieve her. "Don't you dare think I didn't hear that. You have a crush", Asmaa wiggled her eyes and Naj blushes.
"Oh stop it, I mean who dosen't", Naj says and finishes her soda. "Just hurry and finish that pizza so we can go check out that last one before it's too late", Naj said glancing at her watch.
"You should try some, it's amazing", Asmaa said with her mouth full.
"You're gross", Naj shakes her head.
"You're grosser", Asmaa retorted and earned a eye roll from Naj.
Naj finished the last slice and she and Asmaa were on their way to their potential new home.
Naj parked the car in front and took in the large building infront of her.
"Yes I'll take this", Naj told the agent looking pleased.
The price of the place was crazy but she came prepared and bought the place immediately settling in.
"Why can't you stay tonight Asmaa", Naj whined. Asmaa just rolled her eyes and took the car key from the table.
"I need to go pack my stuff and more of yours from the house in New York. I'll be back on Saturday but I'll tell Saif to bring the car tomorrow", Asmaa said hugging Naj and whispering a goodnight to her then walking out of the house leaving Naj alone.
"Welcome to a new life", Naj said and collapsed on the bed.
New life indeed.
