Chapter 46 - Iris

Dr. Crane:

I cross my arms and step back as the incubators open up. One by one, Professor Martin Stein, Mr. Jaime Reyes, and Jason Rusch all climb out of them.

"Ahh," Professor Stein moans, placing his hand near the side of his forehead. "What happened? What is this? Who are you?"

"That's Scarecrow," Barry Allen answers, the very name shaking everyone as soon as they hear it. All six eyes widen as they stare at me.

"You're Scarecrow," Jason Rusch says.

"Yes," I say, walking up to the kid. Jason Rusch leans as I edge closer to him, I bring up my finger and start to stab him over and over in the chest. "And if I were you, I would get the heck out of here now."

Out of the corner of my eyes, I see Barry Allen step toward me, and immediately, I back away.

"Come on," I say, turning around. "I have the portal set up already. The sooner you're all out of here, the better."

"Geez," Harleen says, "And here I thought you would be sad to see all of us leave."

"Oh trust me, I am. I am sad because, without The Man's help, you will all die. Every single one of you."

"Don't count us out yet," Barry Allen replies. "We're a lot stronger than we seem."

"And yet, despite all your strength, your speed, and everything out, you all did nothing for the past three months."

Barry Allen kicks up a storm as he charges toward me, Mr. Hal Jordan falling to the ground. However, before he could reach me, Supergirl reaches out her hand and stops him. Now, it's me and Barry Allen who are looking at each other.

"Just guide us out," Supergirl says, her arm falling to her side.

"Of course," I say, walking up to members of the Insurgency. "But before I do, I want them back. I want them all back."

"You want what," Oliver asks.

"I want the excellneno-suits back. Since you rejected The Man's help, then you don't get to use them."

"Fine," Barry Allen says, stepping forward and looking at his arms. "How the hell do I take this thing off?"

Without saying a word, I step forward and pound on Barry Allen's chest, right on the lighting symbol.

"Excellneno-suit deactivating," the suit says, the very fabrics of it retracting into the symbol. Within seconds, the suit is done and it falls from Barry Allen's chest and right into my hand. Waving with my fingers, everyone hit their chest and deactivate the suit. They give me the discus and I put them all in my pocket.

"Follow me," I say, guiding them to the portal.

Walking fast, I reveal to them a massive portal built right into the wall, the very thing causing loud windstorms.

"See you later," I say, waving at everyone as they all look at me. "Hope to not see you soon."

One by one, they start to walk through, leaving me and the base behind.

Flash:

As we step into the blue lights, we are blinded by a bright white light before finding ourselves in Harleen's old base.

"Are we back in Gotham City," Selina asks, turning all over and looking around.

"Look like it," Dinah answers, crossing her arms. Uncrossing them, she then looks at her arms.

"You miss the excellneno-suit don't you," Oliver says, also looking at his bare arm. "Yeah, you're not the only one."

"Come on guys," I say, spreading out my arms. "We don't need those. We don't need anything that guy offers. All we need to win is each other. Now Harleen, what is in here we can use?"

"If my memory serves," Harleen starts, tapping her lips with her finger. "Then nothing really. Just a few basic supplies."

"What do you mean by basic supplies?"

"I mean, sticks and stones when compared to everything The Man had."

"Listen," I say, pointing a finger at Harleen. "The Insurgency didn't need him before. We don't need him now. Got it? We don't need any of them. Not him. Not Scarecrow. Not any of them."

"Got it," Harleen replies, crossing her arms.

"Okay. Now focus on something else for now."

I turn to Hal, who is still looking at his ring. A little of the glow in his ring had returned.

"Hal," I say, patting him on the back. "You said you needed to go to Oa. Go. We got things here."

I hear a few scowls but just roll my eyes.

"Sure," Hal whispers, clenching his fist. He aims his fist upward before jumping and flying into the sky. Flying through one of the exit pipes, Hal disappears and leaves us alone.

"So here's what's going," I say, turning to everyone and clapping my hands.

I open my mouth but as I do, sudden explosions happen all over and knock us around. We scream as Harleen's base is thrown into chaos, smoke pouring down, small bits of rocks hitting us, and flashing lights that blind us.

"Attention Insurgency members," someone screams over a megaphone. "This is the One Earth Government. You are completely surrounded. Surrender now or lethal force will be used."

"The One Earth Government," Harleen moans, pushing herself from under a piece of ceiling. The piece being too heavy for her, Oliver and I rush to help her.

"How did they find us," Oliver asks, bending down to pick up Harleen.

"It had to be The Man's fault," I say, clenching my fists. "What a jackass. Kidnapped us, forced us to do his dirty work, and then when we left, he told Superman where he'd dropped us off. I never should have gotten in the car with him."

Despite Harleen's base still full of smoke, I can see silhouettes moving about in them. Wasting no time, I leave Harleen and Oliver and run right into the smoke.

"Take this," I scream, punching and knocking out three soldiers immediately. Even before they can draw their weapons, I have them on the ground, moaning, groaning, and holding their heads.

"Who's next? You can't hit me. I'm too fast for any of you."

"Then how about I slow you down," a familiar voice replies, a humming sound going off and before I know it, I'm trap in ice.

About to vibrate at super speed and break out of the ice, another familiar voice screaming catches my attention. I turn around to see Hawkgirl fly through the smoke, her wings clearing a path for her as she hits me with her mace, not only breaking me out of the ice but also knocking me back.

"Flash," Supergirl yells, catching me in mid-air. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," I reply, shaking my head. "Quickly, let me down. I'll take the ground troops, you handle the ones in the air."

"No, you won't," a third familiar voice echoes, a very familiar voice. "All of you will stop right now."

Seeing a yellow glow, all the smoke that is in Harleen's base is filtered out through a hole in the ceiling. Now, with the smoke gone, we can see as clear as day Superman hovering above us, his yellow ring glowing. Besides him is a yellow fan, the blades slowing to a stop before the whole fan disappears.

"All of you will stop right now," Superman repeats, "Or she'll get hurt."

"She," I ask.

Superman looking right at me waves his hand in the air.

"Sinestro," he yells, before the purple son of a bitch flies into the base, with Iris trapped in a bubble.
