It was noon. The effused clouds were trying to cover the sun's way. The wind was spreading the mist all around, not soft, but very angrily. The trees were trying to endearment the furious wind peacefully and turn off the fire of its anger. These amazingly strong and wonderfully nice creatures always made Athor think about how they can be this useful. He was looking at them and it made him feel peace. Besides the big apple tree, he saw a stranger who wore a white cloak and hid his face under the hood between the shadows.
He felt that person was looking at him, but something else happened and distracted his attention. Across the park in the farmer's Bazaar beside the breakfast café, so many noises rose.
He got up and again weirdly Angel flew over the apple tree and perched down on that stranger's shoulder. He had no time to check over her. He heard a known angry voice which belonged to Crystal's friend, Mira, who was selling vegetables and fruit. He strode up and pushed people away on his path then got closer. One of the nobles hit Mira then pushed her to the ground because of being on his way.
She couldn't handle those unreasonable behaviors, so she got up and started fighting with the young man whom people called him Master. Again he hit her, laughed very loudly, and made fun of her. Athor was freaked out and pushed the man away and said "How dare you?! You fool; you don't even have the right to touch her." Athor said.
That master guy called for one of the black patrols' nightstick. These days they were as many as grasshoppers in the farms. From his filthy gesture could understand that he was about to hurt Athor so hard. He took the nightstick and attacked him. Athor closed his eyes and shielded himself from Mira. People were amazed by his valor. As he realized nothing happened, opened his eyes and saw that nightstick stopped in one-inch space of his head.
The boy whom he knew from the library took Master's hand and his face got red out of anger.
He took his hand off the nightstick and threw it to the ground, then left quickly. Daniel called him and said, "Hey Raff, if I were you, I would tighten my belt." He didn't care and kept going his way. Not a second was left when his trousers fell and everybody started laughing at him so hard. This time he got even more furious than before and his face became like magmas inside the volcano. He wore back his pants, jumped up on his black horse, and hit the horse's flank, and disappeared.
That was Ario who opened Raff's belt while he was involved with Athor. He always liked Athor and at that moment couldn't see that guy trying to hurt him so opened a way between people and did that to him. Daniel saw him and gave a blink to the little ten years old boy he smiled and ran away.
Daniel gave a hand to Mira and she stood up. People scattered and he was wondering why they didn't try to help this young lady. Mira was being shy and while her head was down said "Thank you for helping us."'
"No problem, are you alright?" Daniel said.
"Yes, I'm fine," she said.
Daniel looked at her carefully and said "You look familiar to me; I think I saw you with Crystal before".
Athor got wondered of those words, he called her by the name, and many thoughts came to his mind and said "How do you know my sister?"
Daniel didn't expect that, but he turned back to him and said "I'm Daniel, nice to meet you, you must be Athor."
Mira was looking at Athor sadly, narrowed her eyebrows, and said, "Where have you been till now? Do you know how much I was concerned about you? Ferssi is looking for you all around."
"I'm sorry, I didn't want those mad people to find me before I turn eighteen." He said shamefully and then turned to Daniel "Thank you for saving us, but I don't know you".
"You are brave and derring-do exactly like her, but sorry I can't explain, I must go now. Please watch yourself a little bit more. Nowhere is safe" He said fidgety with a simper; then he went to his unique golden horse and left immediately.
Athor believed that everything was marvelous about this person. Each time someone needs help, he appears like a guardian angel. He saw him already, whilst sat and played flute on a ruin building's roof. He seemed very trustful, but what was his problem in life? No one bullying on him and had all kinds of life facilities, but he was still sad. It was the first time that he heard the flute tune and fell in love with it. Recently fewer people cared about musical instruments or happiness and no one sings happy songs.
He watched Daniel while he had jumped down a seven-feet-height wall, and already heard from people in the bazaar that he is a very excellent worrier and all other nobles never dared to make a mess with him, everyone whished for his amazing long sword.
He has blue eyes and nice behavior, but a serious face that conquers every heart and simply catches their trust. His short dark hair covered his forehead, always tried to be in a clean good outfit, but not in fancy clothes like the others who used to walk around in snobbery.
That was clear that he doesn't want to be like them or making people feel how much poor they are, seems not to belong to those wounded lands, like what Mr. Atendor said before, he was more like an angel, every moment his knife and sword close even in the library cause he had never trusted aristocrats and went around them ever.
Athor said goodbye to Mira and directly went to Atendor. He needed to borrow a new book and also talk about something to the wise man. Maybe he could help him in that way, on the way he observed many strange people, wore black cloaks, hid their faces under the hood. He thought "That's weird. Why would they hide their faces?" His eyes were caught on a hand. He couldn't believe they are for real or some illusions, red hands, long sharp black nails; he blinked over and over to see clearly and unconsciously said "What the hell is that thing? What's going on these days? All those stupid witches indwelled all the bars and now these weird guys are everywhere." At the same time, he saw Angel was frightened and started shaking on his shoulder. He fondled the bird to keep her calm and stood beside the farmer's carriage.
He worked for him long a time ago, so he decided to say hi to the nice old man. When he saw Athor marveled, "Oh, my son! Athor! Where have you been? Long time no see?"
"Hello Mr. Rugow, My bad! I couldn't live with Ferssi's family. So, I decided to live on my own, I hope you could have forgiven me for leaving without saying goodbye, I was afraid they could catch me" Athor said sadly.
Rugow smiled and said, "It's ok my son. You are right. No one can handle that crazy couple, but you grew up". He paused and said, "Oh my lovely poor Crystal, I missed her laughter so much".
Athor missed her too.
"She is in a better place now."
"You must be busy son I'm not interrupting you go ahead".
"Thank you for your understanding".
He left Mr. Rugow and soon arrived in the library.
Atendor was reading a book when he rolled his head up, lifted his oval eyeglasses, and looked at him, his white long hair and beard seemed even longer than before. He got up and went to welcome him.
"Long time no see, wise boy!" He widened his arms to hug him.
"I apologize for being careless, but I was too busy. I came here as soon as I could and now I'm here" said Athor with a nice smile.
He pointed out to the books inside the shelves "Today I need a book and of course have to speak to you about something".
"Sure, come here my son ist, and tell me what kind of books do you prefer?" He said that while he was putting his hand on Athor's shoulder and stepped toward the middle of the library which was a table and two chairs. "I want a book about magicians," Athor said calmly, but Atendor got shocked, tightened his eyes, and asked nothing. He went up the stairs to a room on the second floor which was full of many different kinds of books. After 5 minutes of awkward silence, he said "Oh, it's been hidden in here".
He came back with a long old leather book. Athor was shocked and couldn't close his mouth after seeing the weird old book. "This book is the only one left and unfortunately I can't allow you to take it out of here, but I will let you come here and reading it every day," Atendor said while stepping down the stairs.
"Wow, that's a very big nice book hidden under so much mist, I knew that they are so wicked, but didn't know they are having a long history." He said that pointing to the book.
"Oh, that's right. Many of them misleading people and there are only a few of them who don't obey demons", Atendor said that with an irritated face.
