Elnan didn't have much of farming lands. Due to their large population they had to bring commodities from other lands. Number of hotbeds was increasing days after another. Obtaining supplies would become harder as demands were getting higher. Each family used to get their ration. If someone would receive higher of the determination their neighbors had to remain empty handed.
However still there was some ignorant people who used to grease hands and gain much of necessary harvests although these were more of their needs. Wheat, rice, barely and other grains were the kinds that had more demands and less production. Besides that castle granary would always receive multifold. Not for rainy days, but only for the king.
