Chereads / The Master of Seventh Gate / Chapter 46 - Chapter 45

Chapter 46 - Chapter 45

Thirst for power and the fear of losing it soaks like a virus, or another resemble can be oil on water, it is hard to remove or improve, indeed! It brings fever, and burn inside and out. Now it happened for the second time in Taramus annals and sounds another malignant king had rose which will be recorded if they survive.

King Atria alluded to the southern deserts, flags of that part were all white then pronounced, "I'm really afraid that you have no time to take some rest, but you must go to the south in the Rageton desert, your brother currently has no time to think about there all his attention had caught by Leigaroun." He tapped his hand on her shoulder and glanced into her eyes directly, he seemed very disappointed and the gleams of hope are about to fade away from his heart.

"Find the alchemist, I know that you are not pleased to see him, but we got no other choice, bring the crystal with you and ask him to come back, we need him here and he must open the gate for another time," the king commanded.

Tamina mused a deep sorrow made her eyes teary and glittering, between her eyebrows wrinkled. She could hear the sound of his heart crumbling like thin glasses and falling apart. Her father seemed prostrated.

"Father you had given him the crystal, but why him?"

"It was all about my secret mission, a meeting with king Sayan years ago. The Alchemist got succeed to open the gate that I wasn't able and he kept my secret and never betrayed me, now we shall have the crystal, bring them both here… The crystal and him, when you get back I'll let you know about the necessary details of that meeting".

The door of the throne room groaned and unlocked. The young commander of the princess' legion entered. Lipai approached, kneeled towards his king.

"Rise son", the king demanded.

He rose and turned to the princess and stated, "My lady, I'm here alive and safe as your order, but I have something you must know, tonight we are about to attack the armory and the station, I'm truly sorry for this news".

She froze, they wanted to destroy everything had made through the years. She shifted her gaze to his father and asked, "Then, how shall I go to Rageton?"

The king nodded as lamenting for upcoming hazards, "we have to do it Tamina it's for the sake of all, and if we don't take action they will hit us. It's really hard to destroy our whole defensive technology, but they have it now. Your brother has allied on earth and unfortunately maybe on Farya. Lug the commander of darkness has been supporting him. We can't put people in more danger while all plains abounded by strangers. We must restrict their access to weapons and distract them so you can be far enough from here."

Tamina sounded to be convinced and said, "So better to take a long step back to have a high jump to hook the peak."

The king chuckled, "The people of desert are waiting, we had sent them a crow and they got our message already. The Taitors are ready, Strandeer will accompany you, the soil power is a gift when you are in trouble, and this time you must experience this journey as our ancients had once."

Tamina's right hand posed on her heart, Strandeer followed her and bowed, "don't worry your majesty, I'll be back on time", she obeyed the order no matter if she would come back alive, all that mattered to her was to take back Leigaroun.

They walked back to the door when the king remembered to add, "Tamina, be here before the three full moons, otherwise, we are supposed to wait till the next 90 days, not predicted if we can hold on since then".

The old factor of Cold castle is illustrated with winding halls, black and white stones on the floor which the colors dance under your feet as you walk through. Enough old and dark-colored that in normal situations it dismay you to enter alone. The metallic silver pillars drew up along the ceiling, still strong like the first days that they had built the first ashlar. Candelabrums sparkled just as soon as the candles-like lights turned up.

Three hours left from the king's command, she changed clothes then had a warm meal, and walked out of her chamber ready to pass through Rageton desert and meet the alchemist although couldn't help to brush away her dismay towards him. Strandeer was waiting in the main hall when she joined her.

"Where are the children?" They rushed to the backside of the castle on the south.

"We made the rooms ready after wash up they went for rest". He responded gently.

"There are many of them out there we must find them all".

"I knew you'll be worried about that so I sent a guise group to find them".

She got mixed feelings in her heart couldn't realize which one she must pick, nor the bad and good could please her, but glad to have Strandeer who can rely on.

They arrived in a gracile path, the number of watches raised and bowed to the princess. They walked faster and the earth stretched and expanded rapidly under her feet. She intended to reach their destination as soon as possible before another horrendous assurance pours the blood and rip the bones or maybe it was an illusion attacked her mind to speed her, surely due to her fear. Yes, the princess of Taramusian kingdom had dreaded and her tremulous hands revealed that nervousness.

They descended the twisty stairs had made on the body of the mountain. The wind blew and punched them in the face. To make sure no one is going to snare their mission they had to thread that way out. Walking down was horrible especially when you could see a deep dark chasm underneath and the wind revolves around to play with you like a puppet. They stepped out on the last stair. The roaring waterfall flowing out of Diamond mount was on their left side and the bridge laid on the right up the chasm. After passing the bridge you could see the gateway. The path had a lackluster start, but she couldn't protest while she had spent such hard times to walk down along the breathtaking stairs. The light transited through clean water and made it shine.

Strandeer coughed. She guessed that he has some unpleasant news to tell her, "tell me, I'm ready to hear everything, no oddball portent can surprise me anymore".

"Oh God save me from this scary lady," they both laughed.

"It's been a long time, I know what you got in that glory brain of yours".

"Obviously you do my lady, actually it's a double whamming that prince Betria had made, he had released that wizard Tarun and the prior-secretary of war".

She was glancing at two full moons the third one still arched. "First learn the rules then break some this is how my brother works. We got only seven days, and a fast riding calls before us to the south", she responded.

Strandeer sighed, stared at the end of the bridge getting closer, "The alchemist is not ready to see the earth's condition, and it won't cheer him up".

"You hit the point, I think so, but it's time for him to get back to earth after 70 years passed on their calendar." She squeezed the sword hilt, as a deep inward wound tormented her.

Strandeer whickered, "I don't think so, at least not alone".

"Not a good time for talking about such a humbug". Escaped away her eyes down.

"You need to stop beating around the bush, just talk to him, I know he is innocent".

"Wow, you went straight on the main point, but I saw him on that bed with my own eyes".

They threaded the bridge and the gateway. The sentries bowed to the princess, on the top of each pylon. Watches were conscious of checking around.

Their feet touched the exterior of the castle and she sneered.

Elendeer stood under the moonlight, fixing and clinching the buckle of a Taitor's saddle. There were three Taitors ready to move, while the king said no words about Elendeer accompanying them.

Before getting closer to them she asked, "I assumed the two of us heading to Rageton, what's the reason behind his presence?"

"Your majesty believed that must be better if three of us go, I'm a good tracer", Elendeer mentioned then patted the Taitor head.

Tamina skimmed at her fellow master of soil and mumbled, "For what on the world? I can't stand this!" She yearned, puffed and steam clouded to the air.

Strandeer paced to his rider and rejoined, "Must leave quickly my lady". Arguing with Elendeer was a waste of time when each second worth gold.

She groaned, "You're off to dead! If you lie." Turned to a watch for the proof and he said, "my lady he is telling the truth, the king had sent us a note". Then passed a piece of handwriting paper, it convinced her enough to mount up swiftly on her Taitor. Pulled down the mask on her face.
