After a bit of walking through the mansion, we had reached a large hallway with windows the size of olympic swimming pools spanning the whole way down.
As we entered the hallway I gazed out of the windows into the eternal starry sky. Even back in the mortal realm when everything was pitch black, you would not get a view like this.
Mary turned to me, noticing my intense focus on the night sky. "The sky is personalized for everyone here in the afterlife. What you see is what only you can see, nobody else will ever see from your perspective. It gives everyone here something to look forward to every night."
"No wonder it seems so bewitching, I never knew my mind could think up of something quite like this."
"You need to get to bed as soon as possible. No more stops, you need as much rest as you can get." pleaded Mary.
I took one last look at the sky and began walking to the door at the end of the hallway. "So, this teacher has taught all the Gods how to use their powers?"
"Yes."
"How is that possible, didn't you say that there was an infinite amount of Gods?"
"Well, Gods are not created that often, it said that one is created every thousand or so years."
"Huh, this person must be pretty experienced after teaching every single God."
As we passed through the door into my room, I saw luxury in physical form. The wall parallel to the door had a large window peering out into the side yard where a garden laid. Perpendicular to that wall an expensive-looking dresser with a mirror on top sat next to a huge poster bed that had a golden cloth draped over, which would probably be able to fit up to 5 people. To the other side of the bed, there was a lamp that was already on and was illuminating the entirety of the room.
On the other side of the room sat a three-sided desk with one side against the wall and the other two sides were at a 90-degree angle.
"Woah! This is quite the room. That giant bed is all mine?"
"Yes, on the bed you will find your nightclothes. Please change into those and go to bed."
I looked back over to the bed and saw a neatly folded pile of black and yellow silk sleepwear.
"Good night master, I will be shutting the door now."
Now that Mary left, I changed into the clothes and climbed into bed and shut off the lamp.
"Ugg, this bed is way too big, its gonna take a while for me to get used to this. But I wonder what the teacher will be like."
With nothing else to do or think about I steadily began to fall asleep.
I opened my eyes and shielded my eyes from what I thought to be the sun.
"Its morning already? I don't feel like I got enough sleep."
A familiar voice echoed through me, "Welcome back young one, how are you finding the afterlife?"
"Oh, it's pretty nice here, and... Wait The Almighty! Why have you called me back? Did I do anything to upset you?"
"No, I'm just checking up on the newest member of the afterlife. Is there anything wrong with that?" The Almighty asked sarcastically.
"Absolutely not, I think it's great that you are being so attentive."
"I also need to check up on the second strongest being to make sure that stuff does not get out of control."
"Second strongest what do you mean?"
"Uhh, forget that you heard that. OK? I was not supposed to tell you that."
"Oh yeah, we broadcast every new Gods first dinner, and the reviews for yours were quite good. When you said that the servants were allowed to talk, your rating skyrocketed."
"Wait you broadcasted my dinner to everyone in the afterlife? That is quite embarrassing."
"You did better than almost every other God on your first dinner, so there is nothing to be embarrassed about. Not many of the Gods are brave enough to talk in front of all their servants like that even after the first few weeks, but you did it on the first night."
"Oh, so you were talking about those ratings that I got on the broadcast, what do they do?
"They don't do anything directly like the God power points, they just help with popularity. Depending on how high of a rating you get. You will be one of the most popular that the afterlife will have ever seen, so I hope your good at socializing."
"Well, I guess it's not that hard being social. While I'm here do you have any information on my first job?"
"I can't tell you much but it will not be an easy one. Just try not to fail, because if you do, you lose afterlife points."
"Thank you so much for your guidance, The Almighty One. I will try to not disappoint you on my first job."
"I think it's about time for me to send you back, but before I do that I want you to promise me one thing. You can't tell anyone that I spoke to you, this is the first time I have ever personally spoken to a single God more than once. The others might think something is fishy and will try to sabotage you. I won't give you any details about why I'm doing this, but you will understand soon.
The familiar mystical pulsing sound began again. The holy light began to fade and with that, sleepiness overtook me, and my eyes closed. The pulsing stopped and I opened my eyes, I saw the golden cloth over my bed and a figure of someone hovering over me.
