~~~Aria's POV~~~
The next class passes by quite fast, before I realize I find myself walking straight for the cafeteria...
My stomach growls a little as I gulp while looking around.
"Gosh! It would've been embarrassing if someone heard that!"
Seeing that nobody noticed it, I sigh as I push open the door and enter the cafeteria.
Anxiety starts erupting inside me as I wait in the queue. I don't know why, but I get anxious when I'm in a crowd, specially it happens if kids from my school are the crowd!
Guess, it's the psychological after-effect of years of being suppressed and bullied. I grab a Mexican cheeseburger and coke, registering the bill with my student ID, I grab the tray. A sigh escapes my throat as I hold the tray.
"Here comes the most difficult part!"
I turn around and walk in slow steps, my grip on the tray tightens, as I scan the tables and my eyes stop at one empty table at the end of the cafeteria. I walk past tables of jocks, nerds,clowns and chant prayer in my mind as I try to cross the table of "Drama-Queens".
Drama Queens, the group of selected bully cheerleaders. And guess who is the leader of this group?
Of course, Vivien! The group includes Vivien the leader, Reyna the co-founder and other four minions of Vivien's.
I try to pass their table silently, careful to not let them acknowledge my existence.
But as usual, Vivien and her minions are bound to cross my path! Reyna, the closest minion of Vivien and the second leader of the "drama-queens" table spits drink from her mouth, trying to spray it on me. But I was already prepared for something like this from the beginning, So I manage to jump away just in time.
Phew! That was close!
I see Vivien exchanging a glare with Reyna and clench my fists, so this was her plan after all!
Smirking, I walk forward as I say in a low voice, loud enough for them to hear though, "Such backdated b*tches! Try something new, will you?"
Smile is glued to my face as I see Vivien punching the table lightly and gritting her teeth together, from the corner of my eyes...
Sighing, I walk towards the empty table I had noticed a while ago but to my horror, I see a specific "hooman" in blue hoodie already occupying one of the chairs.
My feet immediately halt as I stand in the middle of the cafeteria dumbfounded, desperately searching for another place to sit. But other places seem more dangerous than sitting on that table with Rayleigh.
After breathing in a few times, I bravely walk towards the table and sit at the opposite side of Rayleigh. To avoid any kind of eye contact, I dig into the burger as soon as I sit down.
I didn't realize how hungry I was until I took that first bite. I had actually thought of forcing myself to concentrate on munching the burger only, so my eyes don't go around gawking on the peculiar handsome human sitting on the opposite side. But seems like forcing wouldn't be necessary anymore,because I'm already in another world. A world where only a hungry me and a Mexican burger exists!
I quickly finish my burger, faster than I had thought... My eyes travel to the opposite side of the table while munching the last bite, to find Rayleigh laughing at me.
My eyes squint as I give him a death glare while wiping the mayonnaise off my face.
I see him turning back to his usual expressionless self in no time as he goes back to eating fries.
Placing a hand over my chest, I sigh and grab the coke can. I take a long sip from it and my eyes again travel back to the opposite side. Our eyes clash again, and I end up choking my coke...
Cough! Cough!!
I start coughing vigorously as I pat my own back... Suddenly, someone pulls my face to one side and smacks his lips on my cheek...
The coke can drop on the ground and let alone coughing, I even stop breathing for some time as I look at him...
My head buzzes and I feel my cheeks warming up instantly as I look up at Rayleigh, confusion visible in my eyes.
"Uhh... I had read somewhere that if someone chokes, making them surprised stop the coughs," And with that he strides out of the cafeteria, leaving a flustered and confused me behind.
I notice the entire Cafeteria looking at me in disbelief only after he leaves and suddenly, I grab my backpack and run out of there... I run out of the school, to the backyard and only stop when I'm at the border of mountain forest and Wentmont High.
My breaths come out in panting as I lie down on the grass.
"This boy would be my death!" I think as I find myself giggling.
My hand travels to my left cheek, where he had kissed me not so long ago and instantly I'm lost into the unexplainable warmth of that single action of his...

All on a sudden, huge gush of wind blew making Aria's lava red hair scatter all over her face...
Using her hand, she moved hairs away from her face and rubbed her eyes to clear her vision. The next moment before anything else, a scream erupted in the atmosphere.
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"
Aria screamed with all her might as she tried to get up but failed miserably as she felt her whole body being frozen...
~``Rayleigh's POV``~
Maybe it's just momentary feelings of attraction but for some reason I don't want these feelings to be momentary...
Whenever she is near, I can sense it without even looking or smelling. It's like I have a telepathic connection with her, or she has a siren fixed on her that only I can hear.
Every time our eyes meet, I even forget to breathe! There's something in those emerald like eyes that always pulls me towards it, as if inviting me or more likely challenging me to get lost in them.
I couldn't stop thinking about our encounter after going back to my apartment last night... For the first time, I was eager for another day in my life... She was like the most suspenseful mystery to me, that I wanted to solve even at the risk of my life.
I wanted to attend school, I wanted to see her. I wanted to understand why her presence erupts these weird feelings. Even though her presence has a peculiar odor that makes me want to go rogue with hunger, but her presence is soothing at the same time. When she is near I feel like... I feel like I have a goal...
Her presence takes away the emptiness I used to feel and replaces it with desire. A desire to be near her, to claim her. It feels like I'm in another world. And that's what I understood after third period today.
I was lost in my thoughts, when somebody came and sat on the opposite side... I was annoyed honestly, but then without looking I knew who it was and my heart beeped a few times faster than usual...
I peeked at her now and then, in between eating and couldn't help but laughing at how she ate like a little kid.
Suddenly, our gazes clashed again and before I could move my eyes away and stop laughing, she caught me red-handed and returned a cute squinting as if she was scolding me.
I felt like laughing more but stopped as I put on my usual Stoic expression back and started eating.
But the view of food wasn't as interesting as the view I had opposite of mine, so I again peeked at her.
Again!
Our gazes clashed, and she choked her drink, started coughing abruptly.
I couldn't see her suffering anymore, so I decided to try out that one trick I had read somewhere ignoring the fact that there were other people in the cafeteria.
I went up to her slowly, and abruptly smacked my lips on her cheek. The moment my lips touched her cheek, I felt like my body had a contact with electrical force as waves ran through my whole body making the whole world excluding us disappear!
When I move away, I see her flustered crimson face that makes me want to laugh out loud, but I control my Stoic self as I throw my excuse at her and leave the cafeteria like my tail was on fire!
I walk out of the school and sit down under a tree at the premises. A smile finds its way on my lips as I think back about what I just did. That was just recklessly insane! I've never acted on impulse like that!
God!
I run my fingers through my hairs as I lie down on the ground and the next moment, I hear it.
A loud scream in a familiar voice!!!
I quickly get up and run towards the source in full speed....
