Chapter 37 - In The Hospital

"Are you sure? Where have you seen her?" Jessica asked curiously as she looked at Eric.

"Why are you so curious? Who is she?" Eric looked back at her and asked.

"Hebrew didn't tell?" She was taken aback.

Eric narrowed his eyes at her reaction.

"She is one of the murder victims." She replied.

Eric looked back at the photo, his one eyebrow slightly raised. He now remembered where he had seen this photo of the lady before.

He took in a deep breath.

'Flynn, you're a matter of concern to me now.' He spoke in meditation.

"What...happened?" Jessica asked in a low voice.

Eric looked at her and shook his head lightly.

Before Jessica could speak any further, the door of Hebrew's room flung open, causing a thud to echo.

"Mr Hebrew!" Jessica stood in his way as she spoke.

Hebrew sighed in frustration.

"Move aside, Ms Lennon." He pushed her aside from her shoulder.

"Where do you think you're going, Flynn?!"

Eric yelled and glared at Hebrew as he made his way towards him.

"Listen, Eric-"

"No, you listen!"

"Rest and eat, you fainted FUCKING TWO TIMES DUDE!" He yelled his last words.

Hebrew sighed. Keeping his hands on Eric's shoulder, he said, "Look...this is important. Let me do my work and after that, I'll rest as much as you want."

"But Mr Hebrew-"

"No, Ms Lennon." He looked at her and said calmly.

"I have to go. So, let me."

Eric rubbed his forehead as Hebrew made his way towards the outside. Jessica stood there looking at Hebrew's back. She was worried about his health.

"What if he...faints again?" Jessica said in a low voice.

Eric went back to the sofa. He closed his eyes as his head hit the back of the sofa and his legs made themselves on the top of the stool kept near.

Here, after some hours, she opened her eyes and found herself on the bed of a hospital. The nurse had covered her head with a dozen of bandages and it felt heavy and hurt a little. She looked at her surroundings. And there was no one. Lying there all alone for a while, she noticed someone.

From the ajar door of her ward, she saw a man moving away in his usual black overcoat.

"Flynn..." she whispered with a frown and didn't realise when her feet started following him.

He was walking steadily towards somewhere unknown.

"Where is he going?" She whispered questioned herself as she kept following him.

She didn't care that she was barefoot on the floor of a hospital; she didn't care how heavy her head was. And she also didn't care about all those people who looked at her awkwardly. All she cared about was to know why Hebrew was here in the hospital.

Her eyes stuck on that familiar back, her feet walking hurriedly in his direction, but before she could chase him some more, someone called her out.

"Ms Emsworth!" Eva turned around to find a doctor standing just behind her.

"Ma'am, you should not be roaming around right now. Your situation is not stable yet. You may take a rest."

Jessica enraged, "I know what I have to do. I'll go back to my bed once I feel like it. Don't order me around, I hate it." Her voice held a lot of anger.

"Uhm...so-sorry ma'am." The doctor apologised and made his way away from her.

She turned around and find the lobby filled with unknowns. Hebrew was missing.

"Ah! I missed him!"

She walked more hurriedly and tried checking each room and cabin. She might not know the reason for her acts despite that. She was doing it recklessly. Searching for over fifteen minutes, she stopped in front of a doctor's cabin as she heard his voice.

The cabin was the first one in that lobby as she took a right turn. The door was ajar and Hebrew was standing, holding the doorknob.

Eva hid behind the nearest wall and tried her best to hear their conversation.

"Are you sure?" The doctor asked.

"I can't be unsure, doctor. There is no other choice." Hebrew replied.

"But-"

"Also...I have little left on my plate now." Hebrew interrupted.

"Still, think about it. You have a week." Hebrew nodded and made his way out.

Eva frowned. "Why was he here?" She questioned again.

Shaking off her thought she was about to go back to her ward, but someone held her by the forearm.

"Ah!" She winced.

"What the hell do you want?!" Hebrew asked as he pinned her in the wall, tightening his grip on both of her forearms.

She hissed and struggled in his grip.

"Are you satisfied with hearing our conversation?" He ground his teeth.

"No, I wasn't-"

"Do not you dare to lie, Eva!" He clenched and unclenched his jaws.

"Why were you stalking me all the way?" He asked out.

"Aren't you happy with what you have?"

"I just...wanted to know what you're doing here..." She ground her teeth, too.

Her hands trying their best to get away from him.

"Why?" He went closer to her as he spoke.

"Do you still want me, Eva?" He whispered.

Eva glared at him.

"You love to conquer people, hm?" He added.

"And now that you have loosened me, you want to conquer me again. Am I wrong Eva?"

"This isn't what I want to do," Eva answered in a low voice.

"Oh then! Did your husband send you here? The boss? That coward bastard who does not even show his face?"

"I am not his slave!"

Hebrew scoffed, sarcastically.

"You are neither his queen. Do you have any count of how many women he has?"

"Enough Flynn!" She jerked his hands away.

Pushing him back, she stood straight.

"You have no right to insult me. And about me being a slave or a queen...I'm in much better condition than you are, Flynn. We both belong to different societies now."

She turned to walk away but was stopped by his one comment.

"It must have hurt a lot."

She turned around and found him pointing at his forehead with raised eyebrows.

"I wonder if this happened because you took my name while he kissed yo-"

She slapped him.

"Flynn. That's enough of hatred."

She turned and walked away. While Hebrew stood there, his eyes gradually filling up.

'I will wait for you till the end, Eva. I know you still love and want to come back. Though I do no know with what your husband jas been blackmailing you with, I will wait, wait until I die. No matter how much you act as if you hate me, your eyes can't lie. Come back to me, before it's too late.'
