I paced giddily, replaying the day in my head. Does he like me? Does he really like me? Maybe he just wants a friends with benefits type of relationship? I doubted the day and at the same time gave myself hope that it was him finally wanting me. Why would he go out of his way to buy me lunch and even kiss me? Maybe he wanted a booty call? Although, it's too good to be true. I'm not a pretty gal. I'm not cheery, bubbly or really anything that attracts a guy like him.
He was a jock. Line backer in football, something in lacrosse and he even did wrestling. The outgoing, spontaneous, crazy type of guy. Never in my life did I think that I'd actually date someone like him.
I'm a timid weirdo that likes anime, tea and ramen noodles.
Did it really happen? This is totally unexpected! I'm having a Cinderella moment!
"So, what happened? Tell me everything!" Blake was a good friend to me, he was anticipating this moment for a long time. My previous relationship ended with four years of loyalty down to cheating. What was I expecting? Marriage? Ahaha.
"I saw Ben, you know this guy Sara and I knew over the years, I've always thought he was attractive, but when we first met we were dating other people and somehow, at the moment we're not."
"Well, good riddance to them. Tell me about the date!"
"Okay okay, Mr. Antsy. I saw him when I came out of biology, we hugged, we basically went out for lunch and somehow it turned into a date, I kissed him in the car, ba-da-bing ba-da-boom."
"You suck at this! What about the juicy stuff?"
"What juicy stuff?" I said jokingly.
As I was having a good time Sara finally came out of class.
"Did you go to class today?" Sara shot out as we walked to the car.
"Nope!"
"Michelle!?" She answered in an annoyed way.
"I'm sorry, but come on. This guy! You know and I know 'he's one spicy meatball'." Trying to do my best Italian accent. As we giggled and looked at each other.
"It was great. We didn't speak much, but we enjoyed it entirely. We went to five guys, got food, he got free peanuts, blah-blah, he put his arm around me when it started to drizzle outside-."
Already blushing just thinking about it.
"He was singing a Disney song from the little mermaid, it was weird and cute. Then, we stopped in front of the building and he just knew it had to end this way. I thought about being a dick and playing hard to get, but his god damn face and the way he looked at me. I told myself no tongue! The first time we kissed and then, I smacked him when he did it, but he did it again!"
Sara laughed at that part.
"It was great."
I stopped talking and a wave of silence came over us.
