Beatrice's PoV:
My eyes opened & I shot up. I was in a bed, sitting in a chair across the room was Damian, he seemed to be asleep. He was slightly slumped forward, his head down, arms crossed. He was dressed in a gray kimono with black hakama pants & black leather shoes.
Mia burst through the door, "I have everything ready."
Damian's eyes opened slowly as he straightened his posture, glancing at me, then looking at Mia. She had what looked like bandages wrapped around her small bust, which stopped halfway down her long toro. She wore dark gray pants with black leather shoes, around her neck sat the same white scarf from before.
"Girl, come here." She stared at me.
I looked at her, then over to Damian, who sat still, before rising up & walking towards her.
"Put these on." She handed me a very large bag before directing me into what seemed to be a changing room.
As soon as the door was shut, I stared down at the bag with the clothes, then up at all of the mirrors.
Third Person PoV:
Beatrice hesitated as she looked at her reflection, she stepped closer, her hand reaching towards the mirror. She paused, pulling her hand back, letting her eyes fall to the bag. She opened it, pulling out most of its contents. There was a gray silk skater dress with off the shoulder kimono sleeves & a black waspie corset. There was also a pair of black leather shoes that matched the ones that Mia & Damian had, but she left them in the bag. She stared at herself in the mirror, her hand reached towards her reflection once again, but stopped just short of the looking glass.
Beatrice opened the door, both Damian & Mia looked at her in silence for a moment.
"Where're your shoes?" Mia looked down at Beatrice's bare feet.
"I prefer to be barefoot. I do not know exactly why." She answered.
Mia grabbed the shoes meant for the woman, "I'll bring them anyway in case you change your mind."
"Where exactly are we going?" Beatrice followed Damian & Mia as they made their way outside.
Damian remained quiet, his hands in his sleeves. Mia was beside him, her hands in her pockets.
Beatrice watched them carefully, despite their strange interactions with each other they seemed really close.
"Are you two lovers?" She asked quietly.
Alarmed by the question, they froze, as an uncomfortable tension filled the air.
Mia whipped around, "The hell is wrong with you?" She glared, almost looking nauseous.
Damian turned his head, glancing back at Beatrice, despite the overall calm in his expression he looked extremely displeased. By his eyes you could tell he was just as disgusted with the thought as Mia was.
"First of all, I'm only attracted to women. Secondly, he's my best friend. I will have you know I find most men to be revolting, the only exceptions being my sire & his father Lord Alphonse."
"Then what about you?" Beatrice looked at Damian.
His disapproval of Beatrice's suggestion, still evident on his face.
"There is only one person he ever looked upon fondly. Other than that, my lord has never expressed any desire to be with others, especially not romantically. But many still tried, obviously in vain, to catch his eye. All of them sought to gain his affections through physical means. And whenever men & women of the kingdom would come begging him to allow them to spend the night, he'd indulge them. Even though he'd always grant their request to bed him, he was never genuinely interested."
Beatrice glanced towards Damian, seeking confirmation of Mia's claims. His usual composure & expressionlessness had returned. But her eyes seemed hungry for answers, despite her doll-like face.
"None ever caught my interest." He gave into her hunger, "They did not want me for me, but for what they could gain by being with me: my status & my power as a Hybrid." He continued calmly looking at her heterochromic eyes. "As for him, I don't wish to speak about him…" Damian's viridian eyes drifted away from hers.
Beatrice tilted her head, then continued walking past the two of them. "Can I know where we are headed now?"
"Lazaria." Mia answered.
"What is there?" She asked.
"Answers." Damian said, continuing ahead.
Mia looked at him, with a grin.
