Taking an electric firelight from the table and alcohol, he poured the alcohol on her wound with no regard for her. Her scream woke Lisa from her slumber, the other girls looked at the scene before them in horror. He then proceeded by burning her with the lighter, her skin sizzled while her heart broke piece by piece.
The pain was immense for her but now looking at her brother enjoying each cry she gave, each pleads she authored. This made Nataly realize, maybe even then, that he never loved her but was obsessed. It was an act to deceive her and everyone around, she was so gullible.
She should've known if a person could hurt you the way her brother did when they were younger, there was no way for him to be saved. Someone must kill him before he gets worse than he already is, looking at him now with no expression but hate in her eyes. She realized he was no longer her brother, but a monster who enjoyed spilling blood.
Their eyes met, and Jonah stood frozen. His heart ached, the feeling was shown in his eyes, slightly. He was scared of her hating him, he knew this was inevitable. This angered him, the fear was replaced by rage as he smacked her on the face.
"Bitch," he seethed, then left the room.
What did he expect? Did he think she would be welcoming and praise him for torturing her and feeding on her pain? He was delusional and he needed to be stopped.
"I am sorry Nataly, this is my fault," said Lisa in a small voice, her heart ached.
Nataly laughed.
She was exposed like Lisa. The thing was, Lisa couldn't see Nataly's body, she was scarred so terribly that her body was nothing but damaged goods.
This was her life. She was used to her brother harming her, she should be the one apologizing to Lisa not the other way around. She teared up, Lisa even lost her hand and was whipped so badly, her body was black and blue with marks and bruises from his beatings.
"Don't Lisa. This is what he wants. He was going to do this anyway, my brother is messed up and there is nothing anyone can do to change that." Lisa frowned, her body was itching and the pain was everywhere.
"I don't understand. Why is he this way?" Lisa asked, confusion evident in her words and face.
"He thinks I loved my parents more than I loved him. He got jealous back then when he started his antics, he was wrong Lisa. I loved my brother more than any person in this world. He took care of me and showered me with love, which our parents lacked to show."
A tear fell down her cheek.
"I was yearning for our parent's recognition as much as him. Whenever I had a chance to be with them, I would be clingy. I didn't realize that made him angry and resentful. It got worse as years went by, our dad started to be abusive after he lost his job. Jonah always took the beatings and protected me."
She sniffed.
"I think that is where all hell got loose. It was when Dad beat him so badly once, he ended up being admitted. Mom never showed any care, if anything she would join Dad with the beatings. When the police investigated and wanted to know what happened, my parents threatened if I told the truth they would kill me and my brother. So, I kept quiet."
She laughed, but the laugh was full of pain, not of amusement.
"That was my mistake and that was the first trigger. He went ballistic when I told him. He called me stupid and a traitor, I was only 7 then Lisa. I believed our parents were going to kill us, I had seen what they did to him. While he was in the hospital, Dad would get more frustrated and started using me as his punching bag. I would cry and plead with him to stop but he never stopped."
Now tears were streaming like a flowing river, down Nataly's cheeks.
"When Jonah got back home and saw me black and blue with bruises, he snapped. He stood there looking at me with no emotions for a very long time. He... he then grabbed my arm dragging me to his room. Father called after him to stop but he never listened."
Lisa looked at Nataly and saw her haunted look.
"When we were in his room, he told him I was his to play with and dad was to pay for what he had done. I didn't understand what he meant back then. He left me there and locked me in, I heard a scream."
She shivered with fear.
"It was my mother's and things were breaking in there. Their voices were so loud even the neighbours heard it, I saw them through the window looking at our house. When they came to our house though, it was already too late. Jonah had already done the deed. He killed both of our parents."
Lisa's eyes popped out in shock.
"He was arrested, back then he was fifteen. Even though he was still a minor the crime he committed was grave, and I was called to the stand. I told them how our parents were and I also told them I was not in the room when he killed our parents."
This was the truth. She didn't exactly see what happened, she only heard the screams.
"So, I am not sure how it happened. My brother was clever, he provoked Dad and made sure he acted first. He still was charged, this made him angrier because in his eyes this was self-defence and many agreed with him, I included."
Lisa's mouth dropped down with shock, how can she say that?
"Yeah, I know. I still believe they deserved it. It's all their fault he turned out this way. So, him being crazy, I believe something might've happened in Juve. He came back not the same person, and here we are today."
Nataly hated her parents for the pain they put them through, but she hated her brother more for the harm he inflicted on her.
He was worse than their dad, she could never forgive him. He had no idea what she went through in that foster house. He was not the only person who went through hell those years he was in juve.
Though he never touched her sexually, it doesn't mean her foster father and sons didn't.
